Gabourey Sidibe receives praise from fans when she unintentionally shows off impressive weight loss in Instagram selfie
She rose to fame in the Oscar-winning film, Precious, before landing her current role in the TV drama, Empire.
And despite her strong acting capabilities, it wasn't Gabourey Sidibe's talent that commanded attention earlier in the week.
The 33-year-old New York native unintentionally showed off her impressive weight loss when she posted an Instagram photo wearing a Biggie Smalls T-shirt.

Over the past few weeks, the actress has been posting selfies wearing memorabilia that featured the late rapper, but it was the most recent one that caught the attention of her followers.
'Is it too early in the morning for selfies with a Mayfair filter?,' wrote the star, as she posed in a white top and black trousers.
Fans immediately began praising Gabourey for her noticeable weight change.
'You inspire me @gabby3shabby congratulations on your road to being healthy!!! I'm there with you!!!,' wrote user kittlove.

Fan carolynjohnson5185 noted that the star 'looks much healthier,' and encouraged her to 'keep up the good work.'
Following all of the attention she received, Gabourey took to Twitter to acknowledge the outpouring of support.
'Um... That Instagram photo was mostly about showing off my Biggie Smalls tshirt and laid wig but...ya know... That's cool too,' she wrote.

In an interview with People in 2014, the actress discussed her insecurities when it comes to celebrity events.
'It's hard to get dressed up for award shows and red carpets when I know I will be made fun of because of my weight,' she admitted.
'If I hadn't been told I was garbage, I wouldn't have learned how to show people I'm talented. And if everyone had always laughed at my jokes, I wouldn't have figured out how to be so funny.
'If they hadn't told me I was ugly, I never would have searched for my beauty. And if they hadn't tried to break me down, I wouldn't known that I'm unbreakable,' Gabourey concluded.
