The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Simon Cowell and his mini-me son Eric, two, sported matching ensembles as they grabbed a frozen yoghurt in Beverly Hills on Sunday
Cowell kept a protective hand on the little boy's arm as they crossed a street in Beverly hills clutching their icy sweets.
Eric was dressed in a pair of pinstripe shorts with a grey t-shirt and some sandals.
He clung tightly to his large tub of treats with one hand and had a small plastic spoon in the other.
Cowell was casual in pale blue jeans and matching -shirt and drove his family about time in his shiny Bentley.
Family outing: The music mogul and little Eric were joined by glamorous Lauren Silverman on their day out
His precious boy: Cowell, 56, played the doting dad as he kept a protective hold on his son's arm as they crossed the road
Hungry: The youngster enthusiastically tucked into his frozen treat as he walked alongside his mom and dad wearing a pair of pinstripe shorts and a blue t-shirt and sandals
The gray bearded X Factor judge was also seen hungrily tucking into his ice cream as he stood on the sidewalk.
His girlfriend, who also has a son with ex-husband Andrew Silverman who divorced her as a result of her affair with Cowell, was stylish in ripped skinny jeans and gold sandals.
Silverman, 39, added a camisole top decorated with red roses and lace.
Dessert time: The X Factor and America's Got Talent judge, who was dressed in pale blue jeans and matching t-shirt, also tucked into his own tub of ice cream with gusto
Cowell recently gushed to People about Eric who it seems has inherited his ability to spot talent.
He told the magazine he likes to have the youngster join him for the talent show auditions.
'He's brilliant,' Cowell said. 'He's very good to watch funnily enough, because I can see when he's bored and when he's up dancing. He's a good critic already. He's unpaid but he's helping me!'
He added that having children had made him a 'softer' judge, as it had changed the way he views young people on talent shows.
'There's no question when you actually have a kid, it does make you feel different because you understand how you would feel if it was your son up there,' he said.
In the driver's seat: The 56-year-old Brit drove his girlfriend and son around town in his convertible Bentley
Reality check: He recently said that becoming a father had made hi a 'softer' judge especially when it comes to evaluating the talent of young people
