'Don't forget the jellied eels': East End geezer David Beckham tucks in to pie and mash in his favourite eatery with son Cruz, 11

He's lived in five different countries and is worth more than £250million.

But it appears David Beckham is still an East End boy at heart as he chowed down on some delicious pie and mash (and even jellied eels) with his youngest son over the weekend.

The former footballer, 41, posted a picture of himself with Cruz, 11, in his favourite eatery on Instagram on Sunday.

Wearing a grey baker boy cap and a red sweatshirt boasting an English rose, he looked right at home as he tucked in to his dinner.

With his beard and moustache tightly shaved, he bore a joyful smirk as he took a selfie with cheeky chappy Cruz.

David captioned the cute snap: 'Always nice being home 2 & 2 twice for me and the boy.' (sic)

Referring to the local delicacy alongside his pie, he added: 'Oh and don't forget the jellied eels'

East Londoner Beckham always makes the effort to visit Tony's restaurant, having been a fan of the traditional English restaurant for over seven years.

A proud father of four, Beckham ensures he pays his children equal attention.

Last week he shared a gushing tribute on to his 'beautiful boy' and second son Romeo as he celebrated his birthday.

Posting a glowing snap of the two of them together to his 28.2 million followers, the former footballer couldn't help but share his outpouring of pride for his 'superstar' who he assured will 'break many hearts in years to come'.

'A special little man with a beautiful heart and a smile that is going to break many hearts in years to come - happy birthday superstar, love Daddy'.

David and fashion designer wife Victoria, 42, also raise son Brooklyn, 17, and daughter Harper, five.

The couple are no doubt having to nurse their eldest child through heartbreak after his split from Hollywood actress girlfriend, Chloe Moretz, 19, was reported last week.

The Beckham family spent the summer soaking up the sun at their home in Los Angeles, but returned to London last week so the younger members of the brood can return to school now the holidays are over.
