James Franco gets suited and booted as he receives honour at prestigious Deauville American Film Festival 

He's one of Hollywood's hottest actors.

And now James Franco, 38, has been honoured with a career tribute at the 42nd Deauville American Film Festival on Monday. 

The star looked dapper in a tailored black suit, a far cry from his usually laid back vibe.

The Spider-Man actor went for a classically suave look with a fitted blazer, crisp white shirt and navy blue tie.  

Those who have left an indelible mark on cinema audiences are rewarded with a private beach cabin Deauville’s Promenade des Planches. 

Sporting his signature moustache and overgrown curly locks, James couldn't hide his delight at the recognition.

The actor joins Michael Moore in being honored by the French festival with a career tribute and a screening.

He proudly grinned and posed alongside his newly unveiled cabin accompanied by fellow US producers Vince Jolivette and Scott Reed.

James' second directorial debut effort, In Dubious Battle, will be screened at the festival, which premiered in Venice last week.

The film, which also stars Selena Gomez, Bryan Cranston, Ashley Greene, Josh Hutcherson is an onscreen adaptation of the 1936 novel by John Steinbeck. 

Set during the Great Depression, the film is about migrant apple pickers in California who are in a dispute with the local growers association.

James' character Jim Nolan is a labor activist who learns what it means to work in the fields.
