Teeth can all too easily give away our age. As we get older, they’re prone to yellowing, which can be ageing and look unhealthy.

My teeth were losing their whiteness as I approached 40, so I decided to have a whitening treatment at the dentist.

At just shy of £300, it was an investment, but it took years off my face! My teeth look just as good to this day, too.

LOVE YOUR WORK

Nothing keeps you looking younger than feeling happy. I spent 28 years as a PA/office manager and, while I enjoyed it, it didn’t always have me dancing for joy! I knew I needed to pursue what I loved.

Four years ago, I started my business as a personal stylist, helping clients to feel confident in fashion, their wardrobes and, most importantly, themselves again. Being able to make a difference to other people has made me look and feel better than I’ve ever done.

GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Hair gets finer as we age, and this includes eyelashes and eyebrows. A few years ago, I realised mascara was no longer giving me the length and thickness I wanted.

Lynne found an expert who applied eyelash extensions - natural-looking extensions using semi-permanent glue - and it was a total game-changer

I found an expert who applied my first eyelash extensions — natural-looking extensions using semi-permanent glue — and it was a total game-changer.

My eyes look bigger, brighter and more youthful. And it only requires maintenance once a month!

WEAR THE RIGHT COLOURS

Understanding which colours suit me and why, has been hugely important to looking youthful. I wish I had known years ago!

By finding out which ‘season’ your colour palette belongs to, you’ll know what colours suit you.

I’m a ‘Spring’ with bright eyes and a warm skin tone, so I now know why greys make me look tired, and why bold, warm colours make me look fresh, healthy and uplifted.

CHANGE YOUR PILLOWCASES

Good sleep is essential for staying young as it’s when our body repairs itself. I avoid caffeine and chocolate after 6 pm and enjoy mint tea before bed to help me drift off. It’s also important to change your pillowcases regularly — or even better, buy silk ones.

Cotton and polyester can pull at and drain moisture from your skin, whereas silk can prevent wrinkles and soothe frizzy bed hair.

Prices range from £25 to £300, but they’re one of my biggest anti-ageing secrets.
