'I told her "keep your legs closed!"': Daredevil star Charlie Cox jokes about leaving pregnant girlfriend at home so he could attend Toronto Fan Expo 

He admitted he had left his pregnant girlfriend at home even though she is due to give birth 'very soon.'

And Daredevil star Charlie Cox joked he had warned her to 'keep your legs closed' so he would not miss their child's grand arrival when he attended the Toronto Fan Expo at the weekend.

The English star, who is dating Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Jessica Jones producer Samantha Thomas, was slightly taken aback when he was asked about the fact he is 'going to be a daddy.'

The 33-year-old said: 'Very, very soon. In fact, my girlfriend was pretty amused when I said "I'm going to Toronto" a couple weeks beforehand.

'And I went, "So, keep your legs closed!"'

The small screen superhero then told by Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Joe Quesada, who was moderating the discussion, he had been handed a task by his other half.

He said: 'I’m glad you brought it up Joe, because, I kind of feel like I’m putting you on the spot here, but one of the things she said to me before I left was, ‘If you see Joe, you have to convince him to do a Baby Daredevil drawing for us.’”

The noted comic creator and artist, who pencilled titles such as Batman: Sword of Azrael and The Amazing Spider-Man, proved to be in an obliging mood. 

Without a moment's hesitation he said: 'I can do that.'

The silver screen hunk starred in films such as 2007's Stardust alongside Claire Danes and in HBO hit Boardwalk Empire before filling Ben Affleck's shoes as Matt Murdock in his latest project.

The show was renewed by Netflix for a third season in July, though it is not expected to debut until 2018 due to the 2017 season of Marvel's The Defenders, in which Daredevil will team up with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in the small-screen answer to The Avengers.
