'I felt like I was truly facing death': Country singer Catherine Britt opens up about second cancer scare... just six months after completing radiation therapy for breast cancer

Country music singer Catherine Britt has opened up about a second cancer scare, just six months after completing her chemotherapy and radiation.

The 31-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to tell fans 'the last couple of days have been the scariest days of my life' after a 4cm tumour was found on her abdomen during a routine check-up scan.

'I have had CT scans, MRI's, talks of my cancer coming back so soon and what that all means and I felt like I was truly facing death,' the bright-eyed beauty told her fans.

Catherine informed that her cancer has not returned and that the lump is benign.

'Today I received a phone call from my beautiful oncologist telling me it's a benign tumour and I am completely cancer free from head to toe!!!!!' she wrote. 

'I can't even explain how happy, ecstatic, over the moon, grateful, in love with life, exhausted, relieved and just plain smiley I am feeling right now.

'I love my husband, family & my friends so damn much and man I am grateful to be alive,' she added.

Alongside the detailed caption, the singer posted a jubilant selfie with her husband James, with whom she runs Rhythms Music Magazine. 

The Newcastle-born girl, who made her country music debut aged just 14, discovered she had Stage Two breast cancer when she was just 30-years-old.

After finding a lump on her breast, Catherine was diagnosis in May 2015, just a week after her album Boneshaker came out.

The singer's wedding was also already booked, so she kept the plans in place to give her 'something to look forward to'.

She also attended the ARIA Awards in November, during her treatment, sporting a bald head proudly down the red carpet.

However, the singer was unable to tour the album on it's release and instead, after her treatment, did an F U Cancer tour, with shows across April and May this year.
