  • The Magic Mike XXL star waxed lyrical about the Olympic champion on the show, telling Ellen DeGeneres that he was going to 'freak out' meeting her

Since returning from the Rio Olympic Games with no less than four gold medals - and a bronze to boot - Simone Biles has gained herself a legion of fans across the world - all the way up to Hollywood's elite.

And some of those fans are more than happy to wear their love for their idol on their sleeve, like Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, who appeared on Ellen on Tuesday gushing about Simone and her incredible talents.

When asked by host Ellen DeGeneres if he had met Simone backstage at the show, Channing replied: 'I did not meet her back there yet. But I want to. I'm gonna freak out.'

'We watched everyone and, as we know now, she is going to be the greatest and already is the greatest of all time,' he added.

The 36-year-old actor also revealed a theory that he has about Simone's success, saying that: 'I think she's got really strong toes and I think it helps her hold onto the ground... to keep herself from flying away.'

When the bemused Ellen questioned his theory, he added: 'It doesn't make any sense. If I came down with that much force, my kneecaps would pop right out of the building. '

Later on the show, while Simone was being interviewed, Ellen declared that she had a surprise for her, saying that she would certainly need something to hold all those medals she won.

The stage doors opened to reveal Channing, standing with his hands raised, with four of Simone's five Olympic medals - four gold and one bronze -  hanging from his arms.

After a quick hug, the trio snapped a selfie and Simone hung a pair of her golds over Channing and Ellen's necks.

During her appearance on the show, Simone also discussed meeting another Hollywood heartthrob: Zac Efron.

'He’s like even more perfect in person,' she gushed after thanking Ellen for arranging the meet up. 'I didn’t think someone could be so perfect and he was there I was like “Aha Aha” I wanted to grab him and never let him go…'

But Zac was just the first in a long line of A-list stars keen on meeting the gymnastics champion, including selfie queen Kim Kardashian, whom Simone met at the MTV VMAs.

'I already texted her this morning, so that’s good and I want to babysit her daughter,' said Simone of the reality star.

'I also got to meet Beyoncé and at the end of the night I topped it off by falling down the stairs because I am clumsy.'

But Simone and Channing's first meeting wasn't the only bit of excitement on the newest episode of Ellen. The show also welcomed the Magic Mike Live dancers from the new Las Vegas production, who performed a raunchy routine that had the studio crowd worked up into a frenzy.
