A romantic respite for rekindled lovers Wilmer Valderrama and Minka Kelly ended with the holiday weekend Monday.

The couple, who had been enjoying a getaway to the tropical paradise the past few days, were snapped heading to board a plane, presumably taking them to Southern California.

While Minka reportedly came down with a case of food poisoning, hurricane alerts were subsequently issued for the area with Hurricane Newton headed that way; either way, it was time to go.

Minka, 36, wore a lacy white top with black pants as she carried a brown coat in her arms.

Wilmer, 36, wore a black baseball cap, denim blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt with sunglasses dangling from his collar.

Both stars looked a bit worn down amid the Friday Night Light's beauty's purported health hiccup.

On Saturday night, the duo was snapped on a romantic stroll through the Mexican resort city, as Minka looked lovely in a long white dress, while Wilmer played it casual in a white T-shirt with jeans and white sneakers.

The holiday weekend outing came just days after Minka and Wilmer were snapped grabbing dinner at The Palms in Hollywood, lending credence to the notion that the two - who dated for a time in 2012 - have again attempted to make a go at a Hollywood relationship.

Both Wilmer and Minka have impressive dating pasts, having been involved with a who's who of names on both sides.

The Roommate beauty was most famously involved with now-retired New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, as the two dated for three years before calling it quits in 2012. The gorgeous Los Angeles native has also been linked to A-list actors including Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Evans and Sean Penn.

Wilmer had past carved out a reputation as one of Hollywood's foremost lotharios, having romanced a parade of starlets including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lindsay Lohan, Mandy Moore and Ashlee Simpson.

He most recently carried on a six-year-relationship with songstress Demi Lovato before the pair broke things off earlier this summer.

The couple announced to the world they were calling it quits in a joint statement Demi posted to her Instagram page, writing: 'After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship.

'This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.'

Demi did not seem as amicable, however, with a recent tweet she sent Thursday amid news of Wilmer and Minka's revived relationship. While the tweet was not addressed to anyone specifically, the tone and timing led many to connect her words to her ex's latest fling. The 24-year-old singer took to Twitter writing, 'You have to be capable of being honest with yourself before you can get honest with other people.'
