Police were summoned to deal with a noise complaint, as Beyonce partied the night away with a host of celebrity pals at her 35th birthday bash.

Uniformed NYPD officers were pictured visiting the building hosting the singer's New York party at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning, after neighbours contacted them complaining about the loud music. 

After police informed the building's doorman of the complaint, onlookers said Beyonce and the party-goers complied with a request to turn down the volume.

Beyonce was on 'doctor-ordered vocal rest' during the Soul Train-themed bash, having earlier postponed her planned concert this Wednesday.

And while she wasn't able to chat with her famous guests, she had no trouble making some noise with her jaw-dropping dance moves.

Taking centre stage in a sparkling jumpsuit and height-boosting platforms, the Lemonade singer strutted her stuff on the dancefloor with her husband of eight years Jay Z, 45.

Earlier the same day Queen Bey had announced the postponement of her concert this Wednesday.

The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey released an official statement Monday assuring fans that their tickets will be honored on October 7.
