Newlywed Samia Ghadie flashes her wedding ring at TV Choice Awards... as she shares the red carpet with former love rival Jennifer Metcalfe

She recently married her ice-dancing beau Sylvain Longchambon, but that didn't make sharing the red carpet with his ex, Jennifer Metcalfe, any less awkward.

A smiling Samia Ghadie stepped out for the first time since her big day on Monday night, flashing her wedding band as she headed to the 2016 TV Choice Awards.

Arriving in a sparkling silver and black dress, the Coronation Street actress, 34, dazzled as she took to the carpet without her new hubby in tow, to support Corrie in its battle for the Best Soap award.

The star looked gorgeous in the fit and flare dress, which featured a top section formed entirely of sequins.

The frock then cinched in at the actress' petite waist before flowing out into a 1950s style skirt of sleek and shiny black.

Falling to below her knee and featuring a high neck, the newly-married star's outfit remained incredibly classy but still stylish.

She co-ordinated with a pair of silver heeled sandals and a chic patent black clutch bag.

Samia swept her locks up into a voluminous ponytail, leaving a few strands and her long fringe loose to softly frame her face.

Posing alongside her co-stars Lucy Fallon and Jane Danson, the British beauty looked in high spirits as she and her pals represented their beloved nominated Corrie at the event.

Coronation Street goes against Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and EastEnders for the Best Soap prize, the latter of which beat the beloved show to the gong last year.

Awkwardly, Hollyoaks star Jennifer therefore makes a soap rival and a love rival, since she also dated the ex professional ice skater after they met on ITV's Dancing On Ice and dated for two years until 2013.

The relationship dissolved into controversy after the Mercedes McQueen actress accused Sylvain of developing feelings for Samia while they were still in a relationship and who later left her on Christmas Day.

Of the heartbreak, Jennifer once told The Sun: 'It's like death. I felt gutted. It was the worst Christmas ever.

'He told me on the phone that Samia and himself had a conversation about their feelings for each other.

'I know how easy it is to get caught up in the show, I did it myself. I think he's got carried away,' she continued.

It seems that not all of Samia's immediate family were in attendance at the lavish ceremony, held in the grounds of pop star Gary Barlow’s former home recently either, according to new reports.

The 34-year-old allegedly 'banned' her mother Patsy from attending the nuptials after a row.

According to The Sun, the pair fell out at last year's christening of Samia and Sylvain’s son Yves, now nearly one.

And the strained relationship came to a head after a huge row two months ago.

The website reports that Patsy, 66,  gave Samia a 'yes or no ultimatum about whether or not she was wanted at the wedding.'

And the pair have not spoken after Patsy's invitation was revoked.

Patsy and Sami's brother Tariq confirmed to the website that they were not in attendance at the big do, which featured on the front cover of OK! magazine.

MailOnline has reached out to Samia's reps for comment.

Speaking to the publication, the actress reveals she wanted six-year old daughter Freya - her only child with ex-husband Matt Smith - to play a major part in proceedings.

‘Freya walked me down the aisle,’ she said. ‘I didn’t want her to give me away as she’s never going to have to give me away in her life, so she walked me down the aisle as Sylvain is getting Freya as well.’

The couple exchanged vows in front of 500 close family and friends at the sprawling country manor, three years after their first meeting on the set of defunct celebrity talent show Dancing On Ice.

But the first months of their romance were overshadowed by Sylvain's acrimonious split with Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, who he also met on the ITV show.

The Frenchman controversially ended their two-year relationship during a tense phone conversation on Christmas Day 2012 after admitting he'd fallen for Samia, leaving the actress devastated.

Samia previously dated co-star Will Thorp - but ended their two-year relationship in December 2012, shortly after signing up for the show.

The pair started dating in January 2011 - just a few weeks after Samia left her husband Matthew after six years of marriage and one month after Will - who played builder Chris Gray in the soap - left his wife Samantha, the mother of his two children.

However, both Samia and Will insisted they didn't start dating until their marriages were over.

Three years after an inauspicious start, Samia says she couldn't wait to marry Sylvain, admitting: ‘I was so happy I had to stop myself from running down the aisle!’

Despite her joy, the actress reveals that walking towards Sylvain prompted thoughts of her late father Joseph, who passed away in 2009 following a battle with cancer.

‘It was very emotional as I had Freya by my side, as my dad wasn’t there with me,' she said.

Among the guests in attendance included Samia's Corrie co-stars Antony Cotton, Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward.
