Sofia Richie has been flaunting her love for pop star Justin Bieber since the two became an item in early August - in Japan they held hands and in Mexico they cuddled.

But still the 18-year-old model was horrified when her 1980s crooner dad Lionel Richie, 67, was asked about her budding romance with the Purpose singer, 22.

During a shopping trip over the weekend in Beverly Hills, the teen said she was 'uncomfortable' when dad was put on the spot about her love life, causing her to run off.

Lionel made it clear he has been told not to say a thing about the teen and the chart topper.

When Lionel was asked if he would ever duet with Bieber, the love song staple said he would have to 'work it out' with Bieber.

Sofia and Lionel were seen stepping into a juice shop in Beverly Hills. The Hello hit maker said he settled on a citrus drink.

Earlier the musical icon was at Roberts Optical.

It is not known if Justin has met Lionel yet. Her mother is Diana Alexander Richie, who divorced Lionel in 2003.

The two seem to careful with how often they are seen together. Often, she is seen during the day with friends and he is spotted working or with family.
