He didn't get the girl - but Nick Viall couldn't be happier.

Having been named the new Bachelor, he faces an exciting few weeks back in the spotlight.

A smiling Nick was spotted for the first time since the news broke as he headed out in North Hollywood on Tuesday.

Nick looked dapper but laid back in a pair of grey jeans, a grey v-neck T-shirt and a pair of statement red shoes.

The reality TV star  grabbedlunch at The Front Yard in North Hollywood with fellow Bachelor in Paradise contestant Evan Bass.

Nick shared a hug with Evan before the pair got into separate Uber cars. 

Nick, who was the Bachelorette runner-up two years in a row, was announced as the new Bachelor for Season 21 last week in a decision that shocked fans of the hit ABC franchise.

However, there is still the season finale of Bachelor In Paradise left to air this week. 

After becoming unlucky in love on The Bachelorette and on Bachelor In Paradise, Nick will finally be able to find his true love. 

Fans were shocked that he got the part over Robby Hayes, Chase McNary, and Luke Pell.

The announcement as him as the new Bachelor means that things clearly didn't work out with Jen Saviano in Bachelor in Paradise.

Although viewers have seen previews of Nick looking at engagement rings for Saviano, due to the announcement last week it must mean the Milwaukee native didn't find love with Saviano.

Immediately after Nick's gig was revealed, Saviano tweeted a GIF of Amy Schumer chugging from a massive glass of wine. 'About that,' she captioned the clip.
