He has apologised profusely to fans for pulling out of his upcoming Dubai concert due to his ongoing battle with anxiety.

And Zayn Malik appeared tired and drawn as he arrived at his supportive girlfriend Gigi Hadid's New York City apartment on Wednesday, just 24 hours after announcing the news.

The former One Direction singer was looking looking a little weary as he hopped out of his car and made his way into Gigi's abode.

Zayn was dressed down in a rock 'n' roll ensemble, donning a leather jacket and a grey hooded top, set off with a beanie hat.

The 23-year-old singer kept a low profile for his outing, pulling the hood over his head.

He carried a checked backpack in one hand, looking like he was planning to stay at Gigi's for a night or two.

Zayn has been forced to pull out of a gig in Dubai next month due to his ongoing anxiety surrounding solo performances, it was revealed on Tuesday.

While he has been inundated with praise for his solo work, Zayn - who has been dating supermodel Gigi, 21, since late 2015 - admitted he is struggling to work alone.

He revealed ahead of June's Summertime Ball: 'With the magnitude of the event I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.' 

His fans were undoubtedly hopeful he has overcome the issue yet Zayn revealed in an announcement on Tuesday that he is still suffering. 

The emotional post read: 'Dear Fans I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances...

After his failure to perform at the Summer Time Ball, he gave a similar explaination:'I cannot apologise enough.

'I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I've let down today.

'I know those who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope those who don't can empathises with my situation.'
