'Nothing surprises me anymore': Simon Cowell hits out at Zayn Malik for not approaching him about One Direction-based TV show
Simon Cowell has once again locked horns with Zayn Malik.
The music mogul hit out at the former One Direction star after news surfaced claiming Zayn is set to executive produce a scripted TV series called Boys about his own life and experiences in the boy band.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 56-year-old X Factor boss insisted he should have been approached yet confirmed 'nothing surprises him anymore', seemingly in reference to the 1D saga.

Simon spoke out shortly after Variety reported, that the show, entitled Boys, is predicted to follow the formation of a massively successful boy band and capture all the trials and fun that come with it.
With the obvious echoes of One Direction in the concept, the group's founder expected consultation on the format although Zayn's reluctance could spawn from Simon stating: 'I'm not interested in a single word he says', earlier this year.
In his talk with ET, Simon said: 'Nothing surprises me anymore. I think he should have come to me with it, if I'm being honest with you.
'I do actually believe that when they've got these ideas, bearing in mind where we started, they should actually come to me.'

Written by Sherri Cooper Landsman and Jennifer Levin, the project mirrors some of Zayn's experiences with former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
Tipped for success, the drama hails from super-producer Dick Wolf and his wife Noelle Wolf. Zayn told the site: 'Dick Wolf is a legend and the opportunity to work with him and NBC to create a compelling drama series is awesome.'
The musician, who is dating supermodel Gigi Hadid, will act as executive producer, alongside the Wolfs.

MailOnline has approached a spokesperson for both Zayn Malik and One Direction for more information.
The news comes as Zayn was forced to pull out of a gig in Dubai next month due to his ongoing anxiety surrounding solo performances, it was revealed on Tuesday.
The star was due to perform at the Autism Rocks Arena on 7 October however he revealed his crippling anxiety has forced him to withdraw from the performance as he is not 'sufficiently confident'.
Back in June, the pop star pulled out of playing the Capital Summertime Ball in London just 90 minutes before the show was due to kick off, as he was suffering the same issue - which he now explained is persisting.

He revealed ahead of June's Summertime Ball: 'With the magnitude of the event I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.'
His fans were undoubtedly hopeful he has overcome the issue yet Zayn revealed in an announcement on Tuesday that he is still suffering.
The emotional post read: 'Dear Fans I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances...
'I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October.
