Zendaya Coleman claims she was refused service by a store clerk due to her skin tone.

The singer and actress, 20, took to Snapchat on Tuesday to complain about the unpleasant experience in a series of short videos.

Zendaya told the camera she was attempting to buy gift cards when the shop worker allegedly tossed her wallet back at her and refused to continue serving her.

Accompanied by a friend, the DWTS alum claimed she was discriminated against.

'So we just got out of this Vons,' she explained. 'Now I am trying to buy a lot of gift cards.'

'There are certain limits or whatever so you can only by so much,' Zendaya continued. 'But the lady that was helping us... I don't think she was a fan of our skin tone.'

'She then threw my wallet,' the Frenemies star said in disbelief. 'I can't make this up! This is what we deal with!'

'She literally threw my wallet and she was like "you can't afford this".'

'It was $400!' she added incensed.

'Long story short,' she concluded. 'There is so much progress to be done in our world.'

However, she later corrected one of her earlier statements, saying: 'It wasn't like a throw it was like a toss with my cards still loose...my card fell on the scanner and she began helping other customers.'
