So perhaps it should be no surprise Leonardo DiCaprio popped up in the Big Apple just as New York Fashion Week kicked off on Wednesday.

The newly minted Oscar-winner had a spring in his step as he wandered around with a pair of lackeys in the upmarket Manhattan area.

The 41-year-old Titanic star was looking nautical but nice in a grey T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan Save Water and an anchor logo, blue shorts and boat shoes.

The conservationist, who regularly takes time out of his packed schedule to jet around the world promoting his Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation environmental charity, rounded off his look with a baseball cap and trendy sunglasses.

But he may have less lofty ideas in mind, such as which catwalk shows to attend over the next week, as he chatted with his sidekicks.

Leo has dated a string of the world's most successful professional clotheshorses over the years, including Gisele Bundchen Erin Heatherton, Toni Garrn and Bar Refaeli.

His latest model is Nina Agdal, a perfectly proportioned Dane who is 17 years the middle aged actor's junior.

The dynamic duo were spotted in Beverly Hills last week, spending some quality time together as they grabbed a healthy juice.

The outing came just as it emerged the Revenant star is being urged to repay millions of dollars used to bankroll the Wolf of Wall Street and given to his foundation amid accusations it was embezzled.

The Department of Justice is investigating the whereabouts $3.5billion that was 'misappropriated' from the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund between 2009 and 2015, in what has been dubbed the world's largest embezzlement case.

A court filing from the federal department alleges that at least some of that money found its way into DiCaprio's pocket through his film and charity work.
