He was forced to cancel a forthcoming Dubai gig due to his 'extreme anxiety around major live solo performances'. 

And after his devastating announcement, Zayn Malik put on a brave face as he threw himself into the supportive boyfriend role at the star-studded Tom Ford New York Fashion Week party on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old former One Direction star joined his girlfriend Gigi Hadid at the party yet walked the red carpet alone while looking extremely handsome in a roll neck paired with a black suit.

Zayn has been dating the Californian supermodel since last year and it seems the famous duo are determined to support one another after he was seen heading to her home shortly after his announcement.

At the Tom Ford bash, the ex-boy band star, who broke hearts when he left One Direction in March 2015, cut an extremely handsome figure as he posed in front of vying admirers on the red carpet. 

Ensuring he was adequately turned out for a fashion bash, Zayn sported a perfectly tailored double-breasted suit, while he shunned a classic shirt in favour of a high-rise roll neck beneath. 

Adding his own edgy feel to the ensemble, he sported his trademark designer facial hair and left his tresses in unkempt waves, slightly outgrown to his usual length.

Gigi meanwhile opted for an entirely contrasting look as she wore super casual distressed jeans with an abs-baring crop top with a plunging neckline. 

Pairing the look with PVC ankle boots, she looked every inch the supermodel thanks to the effortless feel of the look. 

Naturally her beauty regimen was flawless, with her blonde tresses slicked behind her ears. Her make-up was kept dewy and fresh while she painted in a fashion-forward strong brow.

It was revealed on Tuesday that Zayn has been forced to pull out of a gig in Dubai next month due to his ongoing anxiety surrounding solo performances.

Back in June, the pop star pulled out of playing the Capital Summertime Ball in London just 90 minutes before the show was due to kick off, as he was suffering the same issue - which he now explained is persisting.

Zayn was due to perform at the Autism Rocks Arena on 7 October, however he revealed his crippling anxiety has forced him to withdraw from the performance as he has not yet overcome his woes.

His fans were undoubtedly hopeful he has overcome the issue yet Zayn revealed in an announcement on Tuesday that he is still suffering.

Organisers of the event threw their support behind the former boy band star as they penned: 'Whilst disappointed not to be hosting the planned Oct 7th. Dubai concert we appreciate Zayn’s honest apologies and wish him all the best for the future.'
