Cressida shows Stella why she's the bees knees: Harry's ex displays flawless pins at restaurant launch while fashion designer's dress does her no favours

Stella McCartney is a world-class fashion designer, so why does she often seem so badly dressed?

Sir Paul’s daughter, 44, turned up to the GQ Men of the Year Awards in one of her creations which made her look like the last Quality Street in the box, according to waspish guests.

The baggy drop-waist mini-dress — thought to have cost around £1,000 – swamped her figure and drew attention to her knobbly knees.

Adding insult to injury, Stella was shown how it’s done by Prince Harry’s ex, Cressida Bonas, at a party to launch the QP Lounge in Mayfair.

The 27-year-old actress slipped into a £249 Maje Ruela dress with a studded waistband that highlighted her svelte figure and flawless pins.

Disgraced MP Keith Vaz is providing money-making opportunities for more than just rent boys.

A canny entrepreneur is cashing in on the Labour grandee’s woes by selling jokey T-shirts for £11.99 each showing the fallen MP’s face alongside the words ‘Just call me Jim’.

In a forlorn attempt to hide his true identity, the married father-of-two had told the male escorts that he was ‘a washing machine salesman’ called Jim.

Has Bridget Jones writer taken a leaf out of her own book?

Life imitating art? Helen Fielding attended the premiere’s after-party in London arm-in-arm with Hollywood agent Brian Siberell

Bridget Jones falls for a dashing American in the new film about the hapless singleton, and life seems be imitating art for her creator, Helen Fielding.

The 58-year-old, who has never married, despite being engaged to long-term partner, scriptwriter Kevin Curran until 2009, attended the premiere’s after-party in London this week arm-in-arm with Hollywood agent Brian Siberell.

Wearing a black lace dress, Fielding seemed reluctant to draw attention to her handsome pal and walked the red carpet alone, but later stayed close to him at the party.

Associates insist they are just good friends, but Fielding should be grateful he’s an admirer. He previously called Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, whom he used to represent, ‘awful’ in a leaked email exchange.

His works have included a portrait of George W. Bush created from hardcore porn magazine cuttings, but artist Jonathan Yeo has never been accused of a crime.

So the son of former Tory minister Tim Yeo was alarmed to be inundated with worried messages from friends informing him that Crimewatch had named a Jonathan Yeo as a suspect this week, next to an unflattering image of the individual, who is no relation.

‘Thanks for all the calls,’ Yeo said. ‘I’m touched so many friends think I badly need a holiday.’
