Calvin Harris went from 'ex drama' to X Factor on Wednesday night, as he escaped the attention surrounding Taylor Swift to help out Nicole Scherzinger.

Seven years after he was banned from the show for life, the Scottish DJ has been drafted in to help her choose her live acts on Judges Houses in the South of France .

Simon Cowell seemed to put Calvin's musical talent first because he was invited to return, despite crashing the stage live on air in 2009 to mock finalists Jedward.

The musician, 32, joked that it was 'quite nice' at Nicole's luxury villa in a Snapchat insight into forthcoming scenes.

Revealing his appearance, Nicole said: 'We're just chilling her at my villa in the South of France'

'Quite nice,' he added as he gave a panoramic view of the surroundings, as well as his glamorous counterpart.

Calvin is said to have been approached directly by Simon Calvin 'due to his phenomenal chart success'.

Seven years ago on the show, Calvin insulted producers when he invaded the stage with a pineapple on his head during an appearance by the famous twins.

Calvin - who was on the show to perform with Rihanna that night - was reportedly ushered off the premises and issued a life-time ban.

That's not to say that Calvin's life isn't still surrounded by drama.

This time, Calvin has jetted off, following the revelation that Taylor and her new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston have put an end to their relationship after three months.

This week, he spoke about the end to his own relationship with Taylor, which happened in June.

At Tuesday night's GQ Awards, he said: 'It was completely the wrong instinct. I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled.

'It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped. I’m not good at being a celebrity, but when it ended, all hell broke loose.

'It clearly wasn't right, so it ended, but all the stuff that happened afterwards.'
