Victoria Beckham colour blocks vibrant coral sweater with blue flared trousers as she steps out at New York Fashion Week

With New York Fashion Week well underway it was a suitably stylish Victoria Beckham who exited her hotel on Thursday morning.

The fashion designer, 42, bucked a trend of her own making by opting to ditch her trademark neutral wardrobe for a vibrantly coloured coral sweater.

The fitted garment served to accentuate her slender frame and suggested she was not wearing a bra as she made her way onto the street.

Victoria chose to colour block her ensemble by teaming the tasteful sweater with a pair of generously cut blue trousers.

Strappy heels, barely visible beneath her wide hems, completed the look - and she put them to good use as she sashayed towards a waiting car.

Heavily tinted sunglasses and a selection of jewelry, amongst it a chunky gold watch, proved to be the only visible accessories.

Brighten up your wardrobe with an orange sweater like Victoria's

She's a force to be reckoned with, at least when it comes to fashion anyway. And Victoria Beckham once again stepped out looking super stylish in New York City ahead of fashion week.

The fashion designer is most likely prepping for her show on Sunday that will showcase her spring/summer 2017 line. And what better way to prepare and promote than wearing pieces from the upcoming collection?

Both VB's jumper and trousers are SS17 and we love how the bright orange and purple hues clash creating a bright bold look.

Seeing as the pieces haven't even been seen on the runway yet, they aren't yet available to buy, so why not fill the gap in the meantime by shopping current ready-to-wear options by the brand (click right)?

If you want to inject some color into your look like Victoria, check out the line up of jumpers below which will work for winter too.

The designer is preparing for a busy fashion week, with the unveiling of her new collection just three days away.

Meanwhile, Victoria currently appears on the cover of the October issue of British Vogue where she wrote a poignant letter to her younger self.

Despite being a recognised style icon now, she reflected on her not-so stylish teen years as she admitted to being 'not the prettiest, or the thinnest'.

She wrote: 'You have never properly fitted in, although you are sharing your Surrey school digs with really nice girls. You have bad acne.

'You think the Principal has put you at the back of the end-of-year show (in a humiliatingly bright purple Lycra leotard) because you are too plump to go at the front. (This may or may not be true.)'

She advised her younger self on future husband David Beckham, who she met at Manchester United stadium Old Trafford in 1997.

'Learn more about football, especially the offside rule,' she wrote. 'And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy.'
