NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak's tumultuous relationship played out on The Real Housewives of Atlanta during their five seasons together on the show.

And on Thursday the 48-year-old Fashion Police co-host hinted to People that her frenemy may return to the Bravo reality show.

The actress and TV personality also made her rounds to discuss New York Fashion Week while visiting the AOL Build Speaker Series in New York City.

NeNe was joined by her E! co-hosts Melissa Rivers and Brad Goreski while discussing the major fashion industry event in front of the live studio audience.

The former Glee star showed off some her stems in a charcoal grey miniskirt which she paired with knee-high stiletto boots.

A long, black frock draped over her ensemble but included a lengthy slit up each side, which flashed a bit of her toned torso.

Her golden blonde tresses were styled in a stick straight bob for a dramatic effect and she opted for a dark smokey eye with pale pink glossed lip.

Another stop NeNe made was at People where she talked about the upcoming season nine of RHOA.

The Broadway actress turned down an offer to return to the hit reality show after drawn-out negotiations with the network.

'I heard once they couldn't work their deal out with me, they went to Kim Zolciak,' NeNe told People.

'When we couldn't work the deal out on me making appearances, then they went to Kim to work the same thing, I suppose,' she snubbed. 'I'm assuming she took it.'

Host Jeremy Parsons called out the New Normal alum, 'Turn the lights up because the shade is really thick in here!'

'That is not shade': NeNe insisted she was 'just telling the truth' when stating she turned down a deal to return to RHOA and the network offered Kim the slot instead

'No! I'm just telling you the truth!' NeNe protested. 'That is not shade. That is real.'

When asked how she felt about the possibility of the Don't Be Tardy star returning for season nine, she confessed: 'I think it's going to be really odd. Kim hadn't been around the show for a while. It's going to be odd having Kim back.'

'But I think the fans want to see her though,' she admitted.

Kim and NeNe started out on season one as best friends but had a fierce falling out, including moments they came to blows, when they repeatedly screamed 'f*** you!' at one another, and both swearing their friendship was done for good.

But the ladies claimed to have mended their friendship during a 2014 appearance together on Watch What Happens Live.

They revealed their feud was behind them and NeNe also admitted that her biggest regret was when she screamed at Kim: 'Close your legs to married men!'

Of her tears at looking back on their falling out, NeNe said: 'Kim and I have come so far - those clips were horrible! It's been years and we've just come so far.'

Asked what helped repair the relationship, the two original Real Housewives Of Atlanta cast members insisted it was merely 'time.'

'Time heals wounds,' she said, blaming the actual falling out on the 'stress' of the show and 'other people chiming in with their stinky opinions.'

On Tuesday, Kim's 19-year-old daughter, Brielle Biermann added to the rumour mill when she posted a suggestive tweet.

'Real housewives of Atlanta was the s**t when my mom was on it..... should she go back on it??' the teen wrote.

And an overwhelming 78 percent of followers showed their support for the Dancing With the Stars return.

The return might be exactly what Kim and her husband Kroy Biermann need after some recent disappointing news for the NFL player.

The 30-year-old was signed with the Buffalo Bills just three weeks ago but was cut from the New York-based team on Friday.

Kroy played for the Atlanta Falcons for eight seasons and was excited to sign a one-year contract with the new team.

According to the BuffaloBills.com site, head coach Rex Ryan had to cut the roster of players down from 74 to 53.

Biermann didn't make the cut with the team midway through training camp.

Meanwhile, the couple - who married in 2011 - and their family will be back for a fifth season of their Bravo reality show Don't Be Tardy on September 14.
