NEW A chilling BBC documentary showing the post mortem of a 17 stone woman has revealed the full effects of obesity on the human body. Obesity - The Post Mortem, set to air on BBC Three on September 13, depicts the stomach churning scenes of pathologists slicing open the women and examining her skin, heart, liver, lungs and kidneys. The woman, from Long Beach Island, California, died in her 60s from heart failure.

The granddaughter of Aristotle Onassis had been married to Alvaro de Miranda Neto, known as 'Doda,' for over a decade. Doda was found in bed with a blonde at the couple's $2m home. The Olympic-medal winner had a one-night stand with the sister of an international equestrian and was found by Athina's security team. Athina kept a low-profile since their summer split, but appeared at the Longines Global Champions League 2016 in Rome on Friday.

Australian actress Melissa George was reportedly admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning following an alleged assault by her partner of four years, Jean David Blanc. And on Friday, the actress was spotted looking downcast outside a Paris police station.  Melissa, 40, appeared sombre as she left the building with a friend. 

Michigan couple Kathy and Brandon Gunn (pictured left) got married on September 1, 2007, and were given a mysterious parcel from Kathy's great-aunt Alison (pictured right). Record-breaker Amelia Earhart (pictured left), who vanished in 1937 while attempting a round-the-world voyage, may have died a castaway on a remote Pacific island, an expert said. Earhart, who in 1932 became the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean solo, disappeared while trying to find Howland Island, 1,700 nautical miles southwest of Honolulu in her Lockheed Electra (top-right, with Earhart). But Ric Gillespie of The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery says that Earhart didn't crash into the water as some assume, but instead crash-landed on Gardner Island (bottom-right) - and ultimately died there.

A 1980s-style Melbourne home sold at auction for $1.83 million, $1.433 million more than it was bought for just 16 years ago, as auctioneers say the under valued Carnegie suburb is going from strength-to-strength. The four bedroom home was purchased in November 2000 for the bargain price of $397,000. Around 60 prospective buyers attended the auction for 4 Vine Grove, mostly young families.

Burke Ramsey (right), the older brother of murdered pageant queen JonBenet Ramsey (center), has sat down for his first interview ever with Dr Phil McGraw (left). In a preview of the interview, Burke recalls the morning his mother first noticed his six-year-old sister was missing on December 26, 1996. Dr Phil spoke about his exclusive interview with Burke on the Today show Friday morning. He says one thing viewers will notice is how much Burke smiles, even when detailing 'pretty dark aspects of this story'. Dr Phil says he believes Burke, who was once suspected of his own sister's murder, is socially awkward. All three members of the Ramsey family were cleared of suspicion after a review of the DNA evidence in 2008. An Australian venom expert who has been stung by some of the country's most dangerous animals has revealed which animal's stings or bites are the most painful and only one snake makes the cut. Queensland police helped Sidney Cook, nine, reach the tip of Cape York after his father Gary asked for advice on how to get the wheelchair-bound boy to the famous landmark - a 15-year family dream. Sidney was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at three months old and Gary recently had back surgery while his wife Narelle suffered from a knee injury. The adventure was documented by a film crew from TV show All-4-Adventure and featured sweeping footage of the picturesque area taken with a drone.

A woman has captured the amazing moment two enormous pythons fought each other for dominance while dangling off her roof. Cheryl Judd, from Whian Whian, 50 kilometres west of Byron Bay in NSW, noticed the snakes through the window of her dining room in August hanging off her gutter. Footage shot on her mobile phone shows the pythons twisting and struggling while trying to push the other's head down.

Back in 1962, George Martin, the debonair head of Parlophone records, made two decisions that would change his life for ever. The first became the stuff of music legend. At 9am on February 13, he had a first meeting with Brian Epstein, a sometime furniture dealer from Liverpool, who wanted him to sign a pop group he was managing. They were called The Beatles. All the other London labels had turned them down. Martin would not make the same mistake. The second decision is less well known: that year, Martin abandoned Sheena, his wife of 14 years, and their children Alexis and Greg, for a new life with his glamorous office secretary. Judy Lockhart-Smith would become his second wife and mother of two more children, Lucie and Giles. Ever since, the consequences have continued to resonate, but in recent months they have done so with renewed pain. I can reveal that, since Martin's death in March aged 90, long-standing tensions between the two sides of the so-called Fifth Beatle's family have deepened. There is now a bitter and apparently irreconcilable rift which could lead to legal action.

Australia's largest dog, Baron, is set to start visiting schools and hospitals as a therapy dog. The 113kg English mastiff may be a gentle giant, but images of him crushing his owner Mark York under his hulking frame show the affectionate hound lacks a great deal of spacial awareness. York forks out $200 a month feeding the insatiable beast.

A man on a motorcycle films the daring rider along what is believed to be a road in Italy. Getting a little too much into her showboating the woman heads off track and falls off her bike. Instead of stopping and making himself the saviour of the fallen woman, the rider appears to simply drive off. The video was posted to video sharing site LiveLeak yesterday where it quickly went viral.

The bizarre scene was captured on a car dashcam on Thursday night in Maida Vale, an affluent district in north-west London. For reasons unclear, a couple appear to be confronted by the shirtless thug as a bus crosses between the trio and the camera. The man in the couple, wearing a blue jacket, is then seen brawling with his shirtless 'attacker' (left). After the fight spills into the middle of the road the victim knocks his rival to the floor and kicks his downed opponent (centre right). A driver close by then gets out of his car and runs over to break up the fight (right). A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said officers spoke to those involved but that neither wanted to file a complaint.

Jack Noone (right) is beginning the long road to recovery after breaking his leg in a horrible incident playing for Sandringham Zebras during the Victorian Football League semi-finals on Saturday. The 21-year-old's foot was left at an ugly right angle to his leg (left) after falling awkwardly during the match against Williamstown at North Port Oval in Melbourne.

Adon Samoilenko (pictured inset) got too close for comfort with a great white shark after it took a bite out of his motor as he fished off the coast of South Australia. He said the shark had been lurking around their boat all day, scaring off their would-be catches. The veteran fisherman and his fellow angler decided to cut their losses and call it a day when the predator (main) descended back to the depths. He said it was his first brush with a great white in nearly 20 years.

The terrifying ordeal unfolded on Friday just before 2.40pm at the Littlefield Garage in downtown Austin, Texas after a man's SUV drove off the parking garage and through a wire barrier, police said. The 2004 Toyota 4Runner then somehow got caught on one of the high tension wires that had wrapped around one of the vehicle's wheels causing it to dangle over the edge of the garage (right). The driver, a 24-year-old man whose name has not been released, is seen moments later miraculously escaping from the dangling car without any injuries (left). The man told police, who arrived at the scene along with firefighters, that he was unable to stop the SUV as he was parking on the ninth floor of the garage. He said the vehicle flipped several times down the side of the garage before suddenly becoming caught on the wire. By late afternoon, the Austin Fire Department posted on Facebook that the suspended vehicle had been lowered to the ground. While it is not immediately clear how the car went off the parking garage, police said the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The friends Jenny Harris and Rachel Jones, both 30, from Essex, have known one another since they were 11 and got engaged within days of one another. Appearing on Say Yes To The Dress on TLC, even Princess Diana's wedding dress designer David Emanuel could tell there was tension in the air and even said, 'The first rule is not to upstage the bride but these two best friends seem to be vying for the spotlight already.'

Emirjeta Xhelili, 32, has been charged with a hate crime for the attack. She allegedly punched one of the woman in the face and kicked them both in the legs as they pushed their babies in strollers. Xhelili also tried to knock over stroller with one of the woman's babies inside, police said. She posted numerous Islamophobic rants on her Facebook hours before the attack on Thursday.

This is the moment a jaguar cub was caught thrashing around a swimming pool as it learned how to swim. The confident little jaguar is seen running at full speed before plunging into the pool. But almost immediately, the cub named Cielo looks terrified with her big eyes as she braves the water. The video was uploaded to YouTube by the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation, which cares for unwanted and abandoned big cats, and fights to overturn laws that make breeding the creatures legal in Mexico.

A determined koala joey was filmed by his carer refusing to quit as he continuously swung his body from a rope to try and grab a branch while in his sanctuary in Northern NSW. At times Mason's body can be seen shivering as he clings onto the rope with his arms and sways his body. Once he finally moves onto the branch the proud koala crawls across the branch before heading towards his carer.

This year's entries to the 2016 National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year contest have captured our planet in all its mesmerising splendour, from beasts caught mid-action as they gallop furiously through water to the serenity of towering mountains at dawn. The competition is accepting entries until November 16 in one or all of four categories: Landscape, Environmental Issues, Action and Animal Portraits.

A cheeky Koala brought a football final on Queensland's Sunshine Coast to a standstill when he ran onto the pitch. The furry marsupial temporarily lightened the mood during a tense match between the Woombye Snakes and Kawana Force on Friday night. Even after it had left the field the koala kept trying to get back into the action, making it difficult for the players to concentrate, before it was eventually placed over a fence (right).
