'I get by just using my mobile': Millions never use their home phone but have to pay line rental for broadband - here's how to ring the changes and beat the cost
Having a landline phone has become irrelevant for millions of homeowners who pay for something they never use. Only one in five who pay for a landline actually uses it, according to Kate Devine of comparison website MoneySupermarket. Yet the cost of renting these unused phone lines has risen faster than inflation. Monthly line rental from BT is now £18.99 a month, up from £15.99 in August 2014. Douglas Hunter (pictured) has never plugged in a landline phone, though his BT Sports package includes line rental along with broadband and television.

MIDAS SHARE TIPS: Biotech group Redx Pharma shares are in doldrums but could soar as new drugs come on stream
Biotech group Redx Pharma floated on AIM in March 2015 at 85p. Today the stock is trading at 26¾p. Yet the company has done nothing obviously wrong and it is backed by heavyweight investors including Aviva, Legal & General and Jon Moulton, the super-rich private equity veteran. The company has a large pipeline of potential drugs, several of which are at an exciting stage of development. So, if all goes according to plan, the shares should rise considerably from current levels.

M&C; Saatchi boss reveals how the EU crusade was ruined and, in a sharp rebuke, highlights ad he COULDN'T use...
David Kershaw was the advertising boss charged with making us want to stay in the European Union. Notoriously, of course, the campaign failed and Kershaw is clear about why - campaigning was too negative and there was no clear direction from the politicians. The 62-year-old advertising veteran has been a top figure in the London ad scene since the 1990s and a long-term associate of the Saatchi brothers.
Delayed again by leaves on the line? Then take your train company to court
From the start of next month, under the Consumer Rights Act, passengers will be able to ask for their money back by going to a local county court if they are not happy with the way a rail operator has dealt with their request for compensation. Long-suffering commuters will also be allowed to demand that compensation is paid in cash rather than train vouchers.

He now owns his own airline, Jota Aviation, and created his own racing team, Jota Sport, in 2008. In 2014, he won Le Mans with team-mates Harry Tincknell and Oliver Turvey. Now 46, he lives in the tax haven of Monaco with his wife Sabrina, 36, and sons Bowie, 14, and Enzo, 11.

'The froth has gone off the top of the classic and supercar business': After years of rocketing prices, experts warn they are starting to come down
Those who ploughed money into supercars and the top of the classic car market have made handsome returns in recent years, but insiders now say the collectible car market is coming off the boil. The classic car market famously collapsed in the early 90s, with cars like the Ferrari F40 falling in value. Insiders said this won't happen this time around but warn that values have hit a ceiling.

MINOR INVESTOR: How the art of doing nothing turned into a winning Brexit investing strategy
Having never got round to tweaking my Isa portfolio before the EU referendum, I resisted the temptation afterwards. As luck would have it that was the right move, my portfolio is up 9.1% on where it stood three months ago and 14% on the week after the vote. Now, though, I risk falling into a new trap of thinking this was down to investing skill.
Why that 2p in your purse could be worth £1,400: The valuable coins that can turn up in your change... and the red herrings to watch out for
Next time you're given a handful of change in a shop, stop and look before chucking it back in your pocket, purse or a jar. Earlier this year, a 2p coin sold for almost £1,400 at auction because it was silver instead of copper (top left). We reveal other more common coins that could be worth more than you think - which include a 50p coin issued with a picture of the iconic Kew Gardens pagoda (top centre), a £2 coin issued with an image from the 2002 Commonwealth Games (top right), a 50p bearing an image of Peter Rabbit (bottom left), a 2p coin mistakenly saying 'new pence (bottom centre) and a 50p coin issued to mark the European single market (bottom right).
ASK TONY: BT offered me a cheap mobile with my landline... then billed me £1,584 to use the internet on it
When I took out a BT landline contract for my interiors business in March last year, the salesman also offered me a mobile phone contract costing £20 a month plus VAT, which I took. The plan includes just one gigabyte (GB) of data, so my employee has been very careful to only use the internet when there is a free wifi connection.
