Swansea 2-2 Chelsea: Diego Costa rescues late point for the Blues after costly errors

SWANSEA 2-2 CHELSEA - RIATH AL-SAMARRAI AT THE LIBERTY STADIUM: How infuriatingly futile it must be for Antonio Conte to speak about taming Diego Costa; how reassuring it must be that inside this madman is also a wonderful striker capable of saving games like this. Here he was, two days after his manager had spoken about the need to control his aggression, and not a single word had apparently made it past the stubble and the scowls. He was a raging, frothing, arm-waving force of nature, squabbling with Swansea players, insulting a linesman and also getting a yellow card for the collection. He plays in a state of chaos and yet, somehow, seems to function with the utmost clarity and purpose when a ball is near a net. What a stunning predator he is. Twice in this game he showed that magnificent gift, first with the first-half goal that looked like winning the match and then, after rapid sucker punches from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Leroy Fer in the second half, he scored with a deflected bicycle kick to save it.

John Terry a doubt for Liverpool clash as Chelsea defender is seen leaving the Liberty

Chelsea failed to get the three points in a hard-fought affair at Swansea and it seems that the result is not the only cause for concern for manager Antonio Conte. Club captain John Terry, having undergone a difficult afternoon at the back, was seen limping after picking up an ankle injury in the final minute of the Premier League clash. The Englishman looked in agony as he made his way over to the Chelsea fans after Andre Marriner had blown his whistle.

Atalanta 2-1 Torino: Joe Hart follows Claudio Bravo's mistake for City with trouble of his

MATT BARLOW IN BERGAMO: For nearly an hour Joe Hart seemed at ease in Serie A but his Torino debut went awry when he left his goal in search of a high ball and made a costly error, remarkably similar to Claudio Bravo's in the Manchester derby. Hart could only get his fingertips to the swirling corner kick. He tried to flick it to safety with a twist of his wrist but only succeeded in touching it on to Andrea Masiello who was lurking beyond the back-post, from where he slid in Atalanta's equaliser.

Who is John Hart? Atalanta make gaffe ahead of Joe Hart's Torino debut in Serie A

The 29-year-old England goalkeeper was called John Hart on the team sheet ahead of his well anticipated debut for Torino against Atalanta in Serie A on Sunday afternoon. In all fairness to those who collaborated the team sheet for the clash, his full name is Charles Joseph John Hart.

MATT BARLOW IN BERGAMO: Former Spurs striker Iago Falque had fired the visitors ahead with a free-kick but Hart failed to claim a corner and Andrea Masiello equalised.

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored for Manchester United in their defeat to rivals City earlier in the day, but made the trip to London for the fight, which Golovkin ultimately won in the fifth round. He wasn't the only Premier League striker present, though, as Andy Carroll of West Ham and Watford's Troy Deeney took their seats for the main event after their two teams played against each other earlier in the afternoon.

Louis van Gaal in crowd watching US Open women's final on same day that Manchester United

Louis Van Gaal was spotted in the crowd at the US Open women's final on Saturday, next to his wife Truus, as Manchester United took on Manchester City in the derby. The 65-year-old was relieved from his duties at Old Trafford in May despite winning the FA Cup, which then allowed former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to come in. He may have wished the players well in his departing statement, but Van Gaal clearly fancied watching Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova instead of Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United 1-2 Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho give Pep

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-2 MANCHESTER CITY - ROB DRAPER AT OLD TRAFFORD: In truth Pep Guardiola was only half right. He insisted before this game it wasn't about the managers, but the players, the ones we come to watch. And he is right of course. But there is reason why Jose Mourinho and Guardiola are the most-feted managers in the game right now. As yet, they haven't made their full impact on these clubs. That will come in time. But in the week in which Paul Scholes correctly observed that the standard of Premier League games is well below the best overseas, this at least was an appetiser for a forthcoming feast.

Manchester City's Aleksandar Kolarov lost a tooth during their 2-1 win at Old Trafford:

Defender Aleksandar Kolarov played his part in as Manchester City claimed victory at the home of their rivals, but the Serbia international finished the game minus one of his two front teeth.

'It was a penalty and a red card for (Claudio) Bravo. For sure outside the box it is a free-kick and a red card. Inside the box it has to be the same, but obviously even the best referees make mistakes.'

CHRIS WHEELER AT OLD TRAFFORD: Pep Guardiola got an early season upper hand on old foe Jose Mourinho as Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1.

The Chilean stopper fluffed his lines and gifted Manchester United their goal before getting away with a studs-up lunge on Wayne Rooney during his side's 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

Stoke City 0-4 Tottenham Hotspur: Son Heung-min grabs a brace while England stars Dele

STOKE 0-4 TOTTENHAM - MIKE KEEGAN AT THE BET365 STADIUM: Stop the press: the cure for a hangover has been discovered in north London. After last season's dramatic late collapse saw them go from title challengers to third place, behind Arsenal again, Mauricio Pochettino's spritely Spurs appear to have woken up this term suffering no ill effects. Following what appeared to be a harsh dismissal of Stoke manager Mark Hughes, the unbeaten visitors struck four unanswered goals in less than half an hour in a thrilling surge to victory.

Liverpool 4-1 Leicester City: Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana all on target

DOMINIC KING AT ANFIELD: It was the 33rd minute and drinks were being taken. Leicester's players were trying to unscramble their senses, Liverpool's were catching their breath when the noise started. What started out as a song became a clapping, seat-rattling, foot stamping din, a sound that was unique; Jurgen Klopp had asked Liverpool's fans to turn the new Anfield, with its giant £115million Main Stand, into a fortress and this was them showing what it has the potential to become.

MIDDLESBROUGH 1-2 PALACE - RICHARD GIBSON: Alan Pardew had his record signing and a wantaway star to thank for only his third League win as Crystal Palace manager in 2016.

West Ham 2-4 Watford: Michail Antonio nets brace before Hornets sting back

ADAM CRAFTON AT THE LONDON STADIUM: After 33 minutes of this game, all appeared happy and well in the world of West Ham United. And then, implausibly, this game turned on its head. Within 22 minutes, West Ham's 2-0 advantage had become a 4-2 deficit. On the touchline, Slaven Bilic was staggering around, dazed and confused. Out on the field, his players had lost all sense of purpose and organisation.

Arsenal 2-1 Southampton: Santi Cazorla nets last minute penalty to rescue three points

ARSENAL 2-1 SOUTHAMPTON - JACK GAUGHAN AT THE EMIRATES: Decorous is the word to describe Claude Puel's reaction to what was a grandstand finish manufactured by problematic refereeing. Arsenal won this at the death, in the fourth minute of injury time, thanks to Santi Cazorla's penalty, but the real story was not of any relentless late barrage but Bobby Madley's blind spot in the build-up.
