'He's my God!' Kanye West heaps praise on funnyman Will Ferrell... and wants star to play him in biopic

There are not many people that would argue against Will Ferrell's comedic talents.

But Kanye West raised him to the level of a deity as he waxed lyrical about the Anchorman favourite in a new interview.

The 39-year-old also paid the former Saturday Night Live star the ultimate compliment - saying he wants his fellow clown to play him in movie about his life.

The praise session began when the rapper compared himself to Will's character in Elf, explaining that he wants to 'bring joy to the world' with his creations.

Self-styled fashion guru Kanye told W Magazine: 'I'm the elf that's Will Ferrell, that's too big for his hands to make the toys.'

He then began to gush over the Get Hard favourite, explaining he is 'royalty' to him.

The College Dropout star added: 'He is one of my personal gods. I would like Will Ferrell to play me in The Kanye West Story. Can you make that happen?'

Taking the insightful simile forward Kanye also claimed he is the fashion industry's version of one of Santa Claus' devoted elves.

Of course, if Kanye is going to be played by Will, that leaves open the question of who will feature as his high-class wife Kim Kardashian.

Keeping up with the SNL link, an obvious candidate would be Nesim Pedrad, who gained national fame for her turns as the reality television personality during her five year spell on the comedy sketch show.

A more adventurous choice would be award-winning Murder She Wrote legend Angela Lansbury, who would bring gravitas to what would surely be an iconic role.

The English actress would also bring impressive comedic chops, important if working with Ferrell, as fans of her work in children's classic Bedknobs And Broomsticks would attest.

She may also have an open schedule, as her representatives said she would not be appearing in a recently rumoured role in Game Of Thrones.
