Donald Trump enters Miami rally to Les Miserables anthem

Donald Trump unveiled a new visual campaign theme in Miami on Friday - a mashup of the Broadway musical 'Les Misérables' and an epithet Hillary Clinton leveled at his supporters one week ago. He took the stage, introduced by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the 'Les Mis' anthem 'Do You Hear the People Sing' blasted through loudspeakers. The video screen behind the podium flashed to an artistic rendering of 'Les Deplorables,' complete with USA and 'Trump' flags replacing the French colors, and a bald eagle soaring over the revolutionary scene. 'Welcome to all of you deplorables!' Trump boomed as thousands screamed 'Trump! Trump! Trump!' and 'We love you!' Clinton said 'half' of Trump voters belonged in 'the basket of deplorables' as 'racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic [and] Islamaphobic' Republicans.

'You better kill him': The chilling calls made by slain Florida professor's in-laws after

An undercover agent who posed as the brother of a Florida professor's alleged killer got much more than he bargained for when he confronted the victim's mother-in-law as part of a sting operation. The unidentified law enforcement member was investigating the murder of Daniel Markel (top right) and looking to confirm a connection between hit man Luis Rivera (bottom far right) and Markel's former mother-in-law, Donna Adelson (left). Markel was shot dead in July 2014 while in his garage. Rivera and Sigfredo Garcia were later charged with the murder, but Markel's in-laws are suspected of playing a role in arranging the killing in response to his recent contentious divorce from their daughter and sister Wendi (brother Charlie Adelson bottom middle). To investigate the role the Adelsons may have played in Markel's death, the agent approached Donna on the street and said that his brother was in need of money, and asked her for $5,000 to help out the man.

Palo Alto rejects Mark Zuckerberg's bid to demolish neighboring homes

Mark Zuckerberg's plans to demolish and rebuild four homes neighboring his primary Palo Alto residence have been rejected by an architectural review board. On Thursday, the board decided the Facebook founder's plans will form a giant 'compound' and reduce the city's housing stock, violating zoning codes and ideal land use. Three years ago, the 32-year-old billionaire spent $30million snatching up the four properties in an attempt to maintain his privacy after a local real estate developer announced plans to build a home with direct views into Zuckerberg's bedroom. According to application materials filed with city planners in May, Zuckerberg's plans include tearing down the four homes surrounding his house and rebuilding them as smaller single-family homes that will take up 20 per cent of the current footprint, without a clear view into his home. The two single-story and two two-story homes would be replaced by three single-story houses and one two-story house. Zuckerberg's plans to keep the four homes as part of a larger compound where family and friends could stay is what the board took issue with, saying it would ruin the single-family home feel of the Crescent Park neighborhood.

Trump spoke for three minutes after 24 minutes of remarks from military generals, admirals and Medal of Honor recipients who had gathered to endorse him. Chicago police officer, Marco Proano, 41, was indicted Thursday on two counts of deprivation of rights after he allegedly used unreasonable force while on duty on December 22, 2013, US Attorney Zachary Fardon said in a statement. Each count of the indictment is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that the indictment stems from an incident captured on dashboard camera video that was released last year by a retired judge who had handled a criminal trial involving one of the teenagers. The video shows the officer firing his handgun multiple times - more than a dozen, according to an attorney for the families that filed a lawsuit - into a car occupied by the two teenagers, who posed no apparent threat. The car had been pulled over for speeding. Police said at the time that the officer opened fire out of fear that the 'occupants who had been in the vehicle were in a position to sustain great bodily harm.' The shooting prompted a lawsuit filed by mothers of three teens in the car, and the city agreed to settle the case for $360,000.

Student attacked for wearing a pro-Trump 'Make America Great Again' hat at Calgary college

The red hats - the slogan for Trump's presidential campaign - have become a point of contention in the lead-up to the election, and this situation at Mount Royal University in Calgary was no different. Captured on video, the male student, Matt Linder (left), was approached by another student, Zoe Slusar (right), and told to remove the hat, which she described was a symbol of hate. 'You're not allowed to share hate language at a university,' Slusar shouted. Make America Great Again means make America all for white people, no immigrants, no people of different sexual orientations. You've got to take the hat off or I am going to write the president of the University. It's not allowed. It's hate language on campus.'

ALTERNATIVE CROP OF ANK103 - FILE - July 10, 2016 file photo shows a woman figurine uncovered in Konya, Turkey. Scientists have uncovered a rare stone figurine of a woman dating back 8,000 years at an archaeological dig in Turkey's central province of Konya that an expert says is one of only handful of statuettes of the era ever found in one piece. Stanford University Professor Ian Hodder told the AP in an email that the 17 cm (7 inch) figurine, found at the Catalhoyuk site, is unique because it is carved from stone, unlike most which are made from clay. Hipster chic… or just grotty? The shipping container hotel that is so popular it's only

Sleeping in a shipping container and bathing outside may not be your thing, but a hotel that offers exactly that has only been vacant for a total of four nights this year. Aptly named, The Container was once used to ship cargo and is nearly entirely comprised of recycled materials. The $290-a-night apartment (inset) is nestled among the trees in the middle of the Mount Arthur Nature Reserve, north of Launceston in Tasmania, and is designed for a romantic getaway. The home, set on 50 acres of land, has a king size bed that comes with a jaw-dropping view over mile after mile of rolling hills - perfect for getting cosy. But guests are left slightly more exposed when washing, with the apartment's bath (pictured) placed outside.

Play time! Orphaned otters happily splash around in kiddie pool after being rescued

The Critter Care Wildlife Society, based in Langley, British Columbia, shared footage of the otters splashing around in a kiddie pool (right). All three usually swim in a bigger pool equipped with a slide but it was closed for cleaning. So the otters, which were taken in after being orphaned, made do with the kiddie version. They didn't seem to mind, as a short clip shows them playing with one another in the small pool. Then, they take their play time to new grounds and hop out of the pool to play in a green tube (upper and bottom left).
