Screen legend Vanessa Redgrave, 79, wears an eyepatch as she attends TIFF premiere of her new film The Secret Scripture in stunning silver ensemble
With a celebrated and enduring acting career stretching all the way back to the late 1950s, Vanessa Redrgave is decidedly experienced at walking red carpets.
And on Thursday night, the 79-year-old star showed she can still effortlessly turn heads as she hit the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new film.
The British beauty wowed as she arrived for the premiere of The Secret Scripture in a full-length silver coat with matching wide-legged trousers and a flowing white top.

Joined by her co-stars Jim Sheridan and Rooney Mara, Vanessa was also seen wearing a large black eyepatch as she posed for shots on the expansive red carpet.

Carrying a silver clutch with matching shoes, the star's striking white tresses were swept back into a sleek style for the big event.

The film features Vanessa and Rooney portraying the same character - a woman who has spent much of her life in a mental institution.
Screen legend Vanessa, mother of actresses Joely Richardson and the late Natasha Richardson, suffered a near-fatal heart attack in April 2015.
In an interview with the Evening Standard months later, the Oscar winner admitted that the horrific incident had given her a new perspective on life.

She said: 'I have a new understanding, a new take on life. I thought I appreciated everything pretty well. That I cared about my profession, my family, the seasons, nature, flowers, science, art. All of it.
'But compared to how I notice and appreciate things now? Before this, I didn’t care at all. Now I find myself thinking what a miracle it all is.'
Earlier this month, she pressed on in her philanthropic efforts as she joined Juliet Stevenson and Dame Harriet Walter to sing a hymn of hope, urging the government to offer sanctuary to the child refugees trapped in the Jungle camp in Calais.
Campaigners say almost 400 languishing in the refugee camp are eligible to come to the UK because of family ties.
