Strictly come catwalk! A-lister favourite Julien Macdonald presents a VERY eye-catching collection to his celebrity fans at London Fashion Week

  • Julien Macdonald presented his SS17 collection at a basketball court at London Fashion Week on Saturday
  • Models took to the runway in ballroom style outfits complete with fringing and  thigh skimming skirts
  • Front row guests included fashion week veteran Abbey Clancy and Olympic Diver Tom Daley

His fans include Abbey Clancy, Rosie Fortescue and Fearne Cotton who turned out in force today to eye up Julien Macdonald's latest catwalk creations.

The FROW saw A-listers cooing over their next possible red carpet dress as the Welsh designer presented his wears on the basket ball court of Seymour Leisure Centre in London's Marylebone.

Known for his high octane designs Macdonald's SS17 showcased his usual penchant for sequins, intricate beading and cutaway designs which appeared to have ball-room influences.

Thigh grazing dresses decorated with beaded fringing would not look out of place on Strictly Come Dancing where the designer competed for the crown himself in 2013.

This season's creations saw the designer unveil ample amounts of flesh on his models who were all brushed with oil so that their bodies glistened.

The emphasis appeared to be on movement with many of the models adorned with swaying fabrics and embellishment - perfect for dancing.

Always one to present a showstopper Macdonald also provoked several ooohs and ahhhs from the FROW with full length gowns.

Though long in length the designer added a racy element to his designs with translucent fabrics with beaded detail.

The lengthier gowns prompted the usual stumbles that are seen on the Macdonald catwalks - but with whoops and cheers from an enthusiastic audience the models completed their struts.

As well as a superstar front row Julien Macdonald enlisted the help of superstar models including Hailey Baldwin who sizzled in a thigh high mini dress.

Macdonald is one of the few designers at London Fashion Week to present both women's and men's clothing.

The male pieces took on a western theme with male models taking to the runway in cowboy hats, studded waistcoats accessorised with bolo ties.

In true Julien Macdonald style the designer closed the runway by joining his models on the catwalk embracing Hailey Baldwin as they reached the end to rapturous applause.

There were plenty of celebs offering up their support on the front row today from fashion week veterans such as Abbey Clancy to those new to the fash pack including Olympic diver Tom Daley.

Abbey Clancy proved she could still command attention as one of the guests as she attended the star-studded Julien Macdonald show and took her place on the FROW on Saturday.

With the show's setting bearing a resemblance to a school hall, the 30-year-old model offered a lesson in style as she showed off her phenomenal figure in a plunging grey gown.

Whilst Abbey wowed in her daring ensemble, she recently revealed that becoming a mother has made her reevaluate her day wear.

She told MailOnline: 'Now I’ve become a mum of two and am working all the time, my style has changed a little bit and I need to look good in the daytime more so than going out at night.'

She added that she channels her penchant for fashion into her husband Peter Crouch's wardrobe.

'I buy Peter clothes,' she said. 'He’s quite hard to dress being so tall and he finds it hard to get a lot of things that fit him but he suits classic stuff, well cut jeans, nice shirts and good shoes.'

One of the other stars in attendance was Olympic swimmer Tom Daley, who seemed in awe of Abbey's gorgeous gown.

Whilst his fiance Dustin Lance Black was not in attendance, he was in great company among the likes of Fearne Cotton.
