Va va voom! Taraji P. Henson brings the sex appeal in canary yellow dress as she flashes leg at the Emmy Awards

She has been nominated once more for one of her industry's most prestigious honours.

So Taraji P. Henson knew exactly how to turn every head in her direction.

The 46-year-old brought plenty of sex appeal as she worked a canary yellow dress on the Emmys red carpet on Sunday night.

The ultra sexy garment was complete with a thigh-high slit designed to flash plenty of leg.

While playing with the fabric of her dress as to show off her toned leg, Taraji gave the camera a sultry expression that was certain to make hearts race.

She also carried a customized Edie Parker clutch which bore her initials and stood tall in slinky gold heels.

Wearing her shoulder-length locks down in sexy waves, Taraji played up her facial features with mascara, bronzed blush, and nude lips.

And to further glam up the look, the Something New actress accessorized with a sparkling cuff bracelet and ring.

It is a big night for Taraji, who has been nominated for a second time for Lead Actress In A Drama Series for her role of Cookie Lyon in Empire.

Now entering it's third season, Empire quickly became one of television's most talked about programs following it's debut in 2015.

Taraji will be facing off against Claire Danes, Viola Davis, Tatiana Maslany, Keri Russell, and Robin Wright for the gong.

Meanwhile, a pair of key changes made by the TV academy could affect the outcomes in Sunday's 27 categories.

It revised how votes are cast and counted, switching from a ranking and points system to letting voters simply check off their top choice. That sharpened the selection process and might affect past winners who managed to collect enough second-place votes to overcome the competition.

In another revision, this one implemented last year, voting was expanded from blue-ribbon panels to - depending on the award - giving substantially more or all of the academy's 20,000-plus members the chance to vote for finalists.
