Supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid lead the runway glamour at Milan Fashion Week as they unite for Max Mara catwalk show

Supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid joined forces on Wednesday morning as Max Mara unveiled their Spring-Summer 2017 couture collection at Milan Fashion Week.

Leading the march as proceedings got underway in the Italian fashion capital, Bella, 19, proved to be a commanding presence by exposing her cleavage and legs in a striking sheer bodysuit.

A sweeping floor-length coat gave the revealing ensemble an elegant flourish, while embellished black shoes rounded things off.

Heavily applied foundation drew attention to the model's sculpted cheekbones as she confidently modeled the forthcoming range from the Italian fashion house.

Daring splashes of eye-shadow gave an otherwise subdued colour scheme a vibrant twist, and the tasteful cosmetic embellishment proved to be a recurring theme on the day.

Indeed, older sister Gigi, 21, revealed her own delicately applied lemon and white eye-shadow while following Bella onto the catwalk.

The model kept her slender physique under wraps in an embellished knit sweaters and monochrome pencil skirt - both prominent features in the latest collection.

Bold tropical prints also made an appearance on Wednesday morning, serving to push the latest Max Mara on step further from the sharply defined suits that dominated their Spring-Summer collection.

Trading outfits, Gigi showcased one of the highlights - a stylish floral print jumpsuit and matching visor.

A cinched waistline accentuated her slim-line figure where her previous sweater and skirt ensemble did not, while a plunging front fully exposed the model's cleavage.

While focused on the job at hand, both Gigi and Bella were in high spirits as they posed for snaps with their fellow runway models backstage.

However a successful catwalk appearance was overshadowed by a furious altercation with a fan shortly after the show came to an end.

A furious Gigi appeared to lash out waving her fists and elbows around in the air after a fan appeared to lift her from behind as she and Bella made their way towards a waiting car.

Eventually security intervened and she was whisked away, looking shaken and carrying her sunglasses, which nearly fell off her head.

The sisters then got into the waiting car but not before Gigi shouted and pointed.

Gigi and sister Bella have had a whirlwind few weeks after taking part in New York, London and Milan fashion weeks back to back.
