'I was a different person': Emily Blunt reveals she was once being groomed to be Britain's Britney Spears after signing a record contract at 18

She is one of Hollywood's most in-demand actresses.

But things may have turned out very differently for Emily Blunt had she not backed out of a recording contract as a teenager.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, Emily revealed she was approached by a recording agent when she was still in high school.

Reign supreme like Emily in an embellished gown by Alexander McQueen

The world premiere of The Girl On The Train arrived in Leicester Square this evening, and Emily Blunt looked first class for the occasion.

The red carpet was transformed into a train track but Emily looked more like she was on a catwalk in this flawless embellished gown, which is by Alexander McQueen. Hailing from the Resort 2017 collection, her heavily embellished dress features an intricate floral design with a couple of birds and horseshoe charms thrown in for good luck.

When put together by superstar stylist Jessica Paster with a headpiece by Jennifer Behr, jewelry by Ruth Tomlinson and heels by Christian Louboutin, it really is a blooming beautiful look.

Unfortunately this exact dress isn't yet available to us mere mortals quite yet, but click (right) to shop the current McQueen collection at Net-a-Porter.

'I was at that stage of my life where I was like, "Who cares, yeah, maybe, that sounds cool". Everything sounds cool other than being in school at 18,' she said.

Emily admitted she was being groomed as Britain's next big pop star and even recorded a demo before deciding to pursue acting instead.

'I got terrified and pulled out because I felt they were wanting me to be like Britney Spears,' the 33-year-old said.

'And I was like, "I can't dance, and I don't sing like Britney Spears". I just felt it was snowballing too fast and it wasn't ultimately what I wanted to do.'

Speaking of the ill-fated demo song, Emily confessed it is like listening to 'a different person'.

Despite choosing to pursue a career in front of the camera, Emily has still had her fair share of singing roles.
