She's never been adverse to spending a day at the beach.

And Amy Adams was in true relaxation mode when she hit the sand with husband Darren Le Gallo in Malibu on Friday.  

The Hollywood star, 42, looked a picture of calm as she strolled along the white shoreline in a turquoise bikini, layered under a sheer kaftan.

Letting her long locks flow in the wind, she accessorised with a straw hat and a pair of over-sized designer shades.

The Enchanted star carried her flip flops in her hand for maximum mobility during her stroll.

She was accompanied by her husband of one year Darren, who also sported a relaxed look in a white vest top and blue trunks.

He arranged their sunbathing towel as Amy chatted on the phone before settling down.

Last weekend Amy enjoyed a low-key trip to the art store with husband Darren Le Gallo and their six-year-old daughter Aviana on Friday.

The 42-year-old star showed off her natural beauty and went make-up free for their casual family outing.

Amy wore a dark-coloured, button-up dress complete with pockets and a heart decal on her left shoulder.

The pretty star's toned legs were visible as she walked in a pair of brown ankle boots.

Amy accessorized with a pair of shades, a necklace and purse and kept her red locks tied back in a ponytail.

The actress appeared to have a rare day off from her current busy filming schedule.

Amy is starring as Lois Lane in Justice League, the follow-up to the superhero film, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which she is presently shooting. The movie will open everywhere in November of next year. 

Amy also has the lead role of Camille Preaker in her new TV show, Sharp Objects, which will premiere on HBO in 2017.

She's also appear in the dramas Arrival and Nocturnal Animals, both coming out this winter. 

And she's also been announced to star in the animated adventure-comedy, Disenchanted.
