Earlier in the day she was spotted arriving at a tattoo studio for a meeting with famous inking artist JonBoy in New York.

And following her appointment, Kendall Jenner enjoyed a day out in the Big Apple with pals.

The 20-year-old model dressed down in a casual ensemble as she took in the sights of the city.

Getting in the autumnal spirit Kendall wore a black polo neck emblazoned with the words zero.

Matching it with grey suit pants and chunky white trainers, the reality star nailed off-duty chic.

And completing her outfit she opted for dark sunglasses and a chain clutch bag.

As the uniform becomes increasingly archaic in the workplace it is having the opposite effect off-duty. Staples like the blazer and the shirt have been twisted into cool-girl pieces by Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. And, now Kendall Jenner is trying her hand at twisting a seventies Mad Men favourite into fashion elite.

The polo neck reigned supreme in menswear forty odd years ago when it was worn slick under a double-breasted blazer. It had a quick revival three years ago when style setters became swept up in Woodstock-era trends. However, over the last few years, its appeal has sizzled away. Though, Kendall is on a mission to change this.

Hers is from fledgeling New York streetwear label Alyx, whose creative director Matthew Williams has been lauded for his work shaping the looks of Lady Gaga and Kanye West. Its close fit and creative slogan stand it apart from the sea of other black, long-sleeve tops out there.

Earlier in the day she appeared to be shopping for some new ink on Thursday.

The model was spotted leaving West 4 Tattoo parlor after a visit with pals.

Feeling shy, the KUWTK star covered her face with her hand and donned a baggy black sweater with leggings.

Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she donned some dark aviators to hide her eyes.

Some stylish Nike trainers completed Kendall's sporty casual look.

The catwalk star currently only has two very small tattoos on her hands but is perhaps looking to add to her collection.

Just browsing? Celebrity favourite tattoo artist JonBoy shared a snap of Kendall and two of her pals Jordyn Woods and Alex Hainer inside the tattoo shop but didn't hint at whether any of the ladies got inked

The reality star was pictured in an Instagram snap posted by celebrity tattoo pro JonBoy alongside some friends inside the shop.

The artist captioned the image simply 'experts'.

It isn't clear whether Kendall got any inkings but her pal Alex Hainer shared the same snap on her Instagram revealing that she was just considering getting some art.

The daughter of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner recently talked to Garage magazine about how she deals with cyber bullies.

'Let's face it — everyone is going to have an opinion,' she said in an interview for their October issue.

'Best advice I have is to just realize that, everyone's always going to be saying something and if you concern yourself with that, you're in for a giant headache. What matters is how you feel.'

Meanwhile Kendall participated in MTV's Total Registration Live event in Times Square on Tuesday encouraging young people to vote in the upcoming election.

The brunette beauty flaunted her flat tummy in a cropped black and white striped sweater with shoulder cut-out.

The culturally stimulating election-themed special also featured performances from Ty Dolla $ign, while other stars in attendance included Joss Wheden, Common and Vic Mensa.
