'It's really fun!' Mindy Kaling opens up about her show on GMA... but doesn't mention ugly spat with brother

She's been very publicly attacked by her own brother this week.

But Mindy Kaling kept it professional as she promoted her show The Mindy Project on Good Morning America on Monday.

The actress didn't mention her spat with Vijay Jojo Chokal-Ingam, who slut-shamed her in an aggressive rant during an interview with the New York Post over the weekend.

Instead Mindy stayed on topic as she talked up her the fifth season of her Hulu show on national television.

She said filming the show was 'really fun'.

'On The Office... I had like one line per week and in this one it's just dreaming up all these situations where I'm like, in a love triangle with two handsome men. It's nice.'

Mindy, who's also a writer on the show, responded to a question about what type of boss she believes she is.

'Every boss, I think, likes to think of themselves as a good boss that's very popular and well-liked, but then you're like, "Oh, well that's what Michael Scott said on The Office,"'she joked.

Get in bloom with a floral print dress by Suno

Mindy Kaling looked better than ever during her appearance on Good Morning America. The Mindy Show star donned a floral print dress by Suno along with a pair of Stuart Weitzman suede pumps and a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag.

We love this bodycon frock with its short sleeve silhouette and vintage inspired botanical pattern. The midi length hemline stopped just below Mindy's knees for a figure flattering fit as well.

Perfect for the office or after hours drinks, you really can't go wrong in an efflorescent number like this. Sadly it's not available online, but you can get a shorter version with 3/4 length sleeves at Shopbop (click right).

Or if you're after something similar, the carousel below is chock full of alternative picks from the likes of Forever 21, Neiman Marcus and French Connection. Team with a vibrant pump like Mindy and go!

'And so, I realized, I'm like, "Oh, so this is the one office environment where no one complains about their boss" and like, "oh no they do, it's just when I'm not around". But I like to think I'm nice. We go to Vegas once a year on a retreat.'

If Mindy's brother is to be believed, she is far from well-liked.

Vijay claims that The Mindy Project star has been ruthless and manipulative behind the scenes, en route to her enviable spot in the comedy world.

Mindy 'has engineered similar public and private plots against her many frenemies in Hollywood,' said her brother, adding that he hoped pulling the veil off her scheming tendencies could reign her in from doing it to others.

'If Mindy thinks twice about stabbing someone else in the back because of what I’ve written,' he said, 'then I’m doing her a big favor.'

Vijay's claims came after his sister said his controversial book - titled Almost Black: The True Story Of How I Got Into Medical School By Pretending To Be Black - would bring shame on their family.

'You play a slut on national TV, and you think this will bring shame on the family?' he said.
