With her new locks sweeping down her front to reach her waist, Rihanna kept the cold at bay with a thick padded coat while preparing for all types of weather with a pair of oversized designer shades.

The natural beauty, sporting minimal make-up, flashed a huge smile as she greeted fans and strolled to her waiting transport.

Rihanna landed in New York on Monday afternoon after taking an immediate flight out of the French capital after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night.

After presenting her Fenty x Puma SS17 Collection, and attending the Dior Fashion show, Rihanna was planning to spend a few days in the city.

Maximize your style in an oversized puffer jacket by Chen Peng

Fresh from showing her latest Fenty x Puma collection at Paris Fashion Week, Rihanna returned to NYC looking almost unrecognizable when she sported a new dreadlock hairstyle.

The Bad Gal looked comfy in her oversized Vetements hoodie and Trapstar London sweatpants which she wore with a pair of platform boots from her clothing line.

She completed her ensemble with some square framed rhinestone sunglasses by Gucci and an oversized puffer jacket by London based designer, Chen Peng.

It's no secret that Rihanna loves voluminous fashion so this bulky topper is right up her alley. We love how the designer plays with proportion and shape here and we also can't get enough of that vivid burgundy hue.

If you're after this same look you're in luck. Rihanna's jacket is available to purchase at Opening Ceremony so follow the link at right to snap it up now.

New 'do: The singer unveiled her latest post in an Instagram snap earlier on Monday

New 'do: The singer unveiled her latest post in an Instagram snap earlier on Monday

But instead, the singer changed her plans and flew straight to New York.

The star was the toast of Paris Fashion Week where she went from show to party and back again.

On Monday, Rihanna revealed she had spent much of the day prior changing her hairstyle up.

Gone was the star's long poker straight 'do in favour of jaw dropping dreadlocks.

The star had clearly spent the better part of Sunday - after somehow finding time for a Puma photo shoot as well - to have the dreads created, each of which finished near her derriere.

Posting a picture of herself in her hotel room mirror, the star was obviously feeling inspired by dreaded icon Bob Marley, borrowing a lyric from his song to revel her new look.

Snapping herself in a black and white image, the star wrote 'Buffalo Solider'.

Buffalo Solider remains one of the late musical star's most popular hits and features the line, 'Said he was a Buffalo Soldier/ dreadlock Rasta/ Buffalo Soldier, in the heart of America'.

For her big hair unveiling, the singer wore a Vetements T-shirt as a dress with some very saucy lace-up thigh high boots.

Paris Fashion Week has not only seen Rihanna at many front rows but the star also sent her Fenty X Puma Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection down the runway.

The star's edgy collection was far removed from traditional sportswear in pinks, purples and greens.
