'Ask me about Egypt and politics': Jeremy Clarkson dodges Top Gear question but for once manages not to offend any other country as he is quizzed by James Corden on world affairs
- Clarkson was on The Late, Late Show promoting The Grand Tour
- Corden gave him easy questions before asking 'Do you miss Top Gear?'
- A diplomatic answer followed as he jovially asked for another topic
- The Grand Tour will launch next month on Amazon Prime
Jeremy Clarkson showed a rare display of diplomacy as he swerved away from a definitive answer when asked if he misses Top Gear.
Clarkson appeared on The Late, Late Show alongside Richard Hammond and James May ahead of the launch of their new show, The Grand Tour, and had to answer questions from host James Corden while driving round a race track at high speed.
Despite Corden's screams as he is flung round corners, Clarkson manages to get most of the fairly simple answers, including the names of Earth's largest ocean and the Chancellor of Germany.
However, from out of nowhere Corden catches him off guard by asking him 'Do you miss Top Gear?'

A wry smile creeps across the presenter's face as he takes a moment to consider his answer, before retorting, 'Ask me about Egypt and politics' and steering Corden sharply round another bend.
However, when asked to decide between Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, he again sat on the fence, saying 'I think it'll be a combination.'
Whether or not he knew it was coming is unclear, but he took the question about Top Gear - which has lurched from crisis to crisis since he was sacked for punching a producer - in good humour.
Clarkson's original replacement as frontman, Chris Evans, has already stood down from presenting Top Gear after just one season because of plummeting viewing figures and being lambasted by fans for his 'shouty' presenting style.
This has paved the way for his his deputy, Friends star Matt LeBlanc, to quadruple his salary to £2million in order to front the programme alone.
Within two weeks of the show's relaunch, viewing figures had been slashed in half to the lowest number since its first revamp in 2002.
Viewers also expressed an unhappiness at a stunt performed at the Cenotaph, and revelations that canned audience laughter had been put in and that Evans had been sick during filming because of high speeds were ridiculed.

Evans was also investigated by the police over sexual assault allegations that were later dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Producers have now confirmed that LeBlanc will take on the lead role himself, helped by racing driver Sabine Schmitz, F1 star Eddie Jordan, YouTube star Chris Harris, motoring journalist Rory Reid and The Stig.
The Grand Tour has been in the pipeline even since Hammond and May confirmed that they would be following Clarkson off the show.
Although its name was not met with much enthusiasm, car enthusiasts are hoping it will be more than up to speed with its stalling rival.
The show will launch on Amazon Prime on November 18.
