'Kaine looks like an evil crook out of the batman movies': Trump live-tweets his musings on the vice presidential debate, and doesn't miss the opportunity to troll Megyn Kelly

  • Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced that he would be live-tweeting the vice presidential debate
  • As soon as the contest began, Trump fired off a tweet at Fox News host Megyn Kelly
  • Kelly said on air that Trump was surrounded by his team and that campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has 'got the thumbs'
  • Trump responded that Conway was in the audience and 'better luck next time'
  • When it was over, Trump declared that 'Mike Pence won big'

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump live-tweeted the only vice presidential debate while his running mate fended off attacks on stage – and the GOP's first salvo was against Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

Trump had forecast Tuesday afternoon that he would be live-tweeting the event. Kelly mused on air that Trump would be 'surrounded by his team! Kellyanne's got the thumbs. Only when they're released will he [tweet].'

She was suggesting that Trump's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway would be calling the shots.

Trump immediately shot back at his former nemesis, who confronted him with a question about some of his comments about women in the first GOP primary debate.

While vice presidential candidates Tim Kaine and Mike Pence tangled in Virginia, Donald Trump live-tweeted the debate with his own comments and musings

He tweeted at Kelly: 'I am in Nevada. Sorry to inform you Kellyanne is in the audience. Better luck next time.'

As the vice presidential contest between Mike Pence and Tim Kaine began, Trump sent a rare compliment his opponents' way. Both are looking good! Now we begin!' he wrote.

Then he started hailing his running mate and trashing Kaine.

Pence 'is doing a great job - so far, no contest!' Trump wrote.
