But on Tuesday night Chrissy Teigen suddenly switched her Twitter account to private.

While the 30-year-old has gotten embroiled in heated back and forths with detractors on her account before, there was no immediate evidence of a catalyst.

Indeed when one of her followers asked if she had changed the privacy settings, she replied: Yeah. Not strong enough anymore'.

In a second private tweet, she revealed that she had simply had enough 'absorbing bad sh*t'.

'It's not haters or trolls or generally mean people, ' she wrote. 'I just feel like I am absorbing bad sh*t 24/7. My body and mind cannot handle it anymore.'

It was a sudden change of mood for the model, who seemed to be in top spirits when she appeared in Las Vegas with husband John Legend earlier in the day.

The couple were speaking at a campaign event supporting Hillary Clinton, as well as US Senate candidate, former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto.

Even before that she was in great form when she sat for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.
