Flame of Thrones still burning! Kit Harington and girlfriend Rose Leslie enjoy romantic stroll in Northern Ireland as he takes break from filming

Their on-screen romance as warring lovers Ygritte and Jon Snow came to a tragic end in season four of Game of Thrones when she died in his arms.

But the real life relationship between Kit Harington and girlfriend Rose Leslie is still very much going strong, with the red headed actress enjoying a romantic stroll with the actor in Northern Ireland.

Although her character is no longer being part of the hit HBO drama, Rose squeezed in some precious time with her beau in a break from filming in Belfast.

And although the pair looked a little different to their fur-wrapped alter-egos, they were wrapped up warmly with the 29-year-old actor dressed in jeans and a green bomber jacket.

His famous black curls were pulled into a ponytail, while he wore glasses and black boots.

Rose, also 29, looked casual in a pale blue bobble hat, black jacket and rolled up jeans with a simple black sweater.

She wore her red hair loose and minimal make-up as she and Kit chatted in the street.

Kit recently recalled how he fell in love with his co-star, who played the spirited wildling Ygritte, as they filmed season two of the hit HBO series in Iceland.

It is, he revealed, one of his fondest memories of the show.

'Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,' Kit told Vogue Italia.

He added: 'If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it's becomes very easy to fall in love.'

Rose added in a recent interview with This Morning that it was sometimes tricky for the couple to find time to spend together.

She admitted their busy schedules keep them apart, with Kit still away for much of the year shooting the show.

'It's kind of an embarrassment of riches whereby both of us are working, it's wonderful to be busy but we make it work, Facetime is a must,' she said of how the two actors stay in touch.

Meanwhile, Kit is in talks to star in a BBC drama based on the gunpowder plot, according to new reports.

The actor is planning on both starring in and producing the drama - under the working title Gunpowder - that will be inspired by Guy Fawkes' infamous plan.

In 1605, Fawkes attempted to assassinate the British Monarch King James I by blowing up the Houses of Parliament, and Harrington has spoken previously about how one of his relatives - a man named Robert Catesby - was involved in the attempted act of treason.

BBC sources have now confirmed the Game of Thrones star is in advanced talks to head the three hour-long episodes that will make up the project.

As of yet, it is unconfirmed which character he will be playing, and no other casting announcements have been made.

The news of Kit's move to producing comes after he recently revealed he was interested in taking up a role behind the camera once he finishes his role on Game of Thrones, and the decision to stay on TV rather than move to film comes after he said television was more 'exciting'.

He said: 'I'd love to go back into a top-quality TV show, because that is where storytelling is at its most exciting and dangerous at the moment.'

A source confirmed to Business Insider that the show was close to being commissioned by the BBC, though the publication stated a BBC Spokesperson had declined to comment.

The project will be produced by Kit's company Thriker Films alongside Kudos, who produced Spooks: The Greater Good, which starred Kit.
