Unemployed Mukith, 45, was given a 12-month suspended sentence and told she was only avoiding jail because she had a six-year-old son.

An inquest heard Felix had killed himself after suffering years of bullying. The teenage waitress allegedly raped by footballer Ched Evans at a Premier Inn hotel was 'taking the lead' and demanding he perform a sex act on her, a court has heard. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was cross-examined this afternoon after giving evidence from behind a curtain at Evans' retrial. She disputed the claim that she was 'taking the lead' on sexual positions and told jurors she had no recollection of any sexual activity on the night of the alleged rape. Former Premier League striker Evans preyed on the then 'heavily intoxicated' woman after his friend brought her back to a budget hotel room near Rhyl, north Wales, jurors have been told.

Neil Carpenter faced a £2,000 repair bill after a mother and her two sons left excrement on beds and walls at his house in Tow Law, County Durham and used the bath as a toilet. Many of the animals died or suffered serious health problems after being kept in windowless sheds in Essex and London. Teresa Wade, 57, sold nearly 2,000 of the animals, which were snapped up by new owners after they were listed on the unlicensed Pets4Homes website as 'home-bred' for prices up to £750. Some died shortly after arriving at their homes, or were ill and infested with fleas; one even 'vomited worms'. The gang behind it included Wade, Victoria Montgomery, 54, her daughter Roxanne Montgomery, 33, and her partner Tony Hammond, 34.

A crowd gathered and started laughing and giggling at a couple of drug addicts collapsed after taking a heroin overdose in broad daylight on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee (pictured). A man posted live video on Facebook before the paramedics arrived to revive the couple, who are believed to be long-term drug addicts. Courtland Garner, who took the video, wrote: 'It was a spectacle. It made me laugh. They can't help themselves.'

Government forces claim they will reduce strikes to 'allow civilians to reach safe areas' - as a top official in Syria's main opposition said violence in the city is reaching 'genocidal proportions'. Pictures of an attack on a neighbourhood in the city appear to show simultaneous small explosions, suggesting the use of cluster bombs which are banned by more than 100 countries. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says more than 450 civilians have died since September 19.

A man has posted footage of what he says looks like a 'dead mermaid' washed up on a beach near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. The images have since gone viral, with many people actually believing it is a mermaid, while others say it's a decomposing seal or a great Halloween prop with garbage bags used to create the 'tail'.

The man, who has not been named, held one phone to his ear while texting on another handset on the M6 in Cheshire. Officers used the elevated position of the cab to film unsafe behaviour by drivers, who were then pulled over by police cars following behind.

Former grocer Hanley, 53, is now serving 17 years for smuggling millions of pounds worth of cocaine in shipments of watermelons, pomegranates and broccoli. But his partner of 20 years - whom he met at a lavish bash thrown on her behalf by her rock star employer David Gilmour - claimed she never had anything to do with the drugs. She said she thought Hanley was still working in fruit and veg and that she believed all his travelling was to meet contacts across the world. However, she has now been convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine, amphetamines, cannabis and money laundering (cash seized by police, inset) following a three-week trial at the Old Bailey.

Pilot David Mayman flew his personal JB-10 JetPack (pictured to left) across the River Thames in London (pictured bottom left and right) in a four minute flight as he and his colleagues announced plans to develop a commercial version. They have set up a company that hopes to develop an electric version of the jetpack, which they say will be available by 2019. The JB-10 features two turbo jet engines that run on aviation fuel. It can reach 60mph and can lift 350lbs.

Yves Saint Laurent sent models down the runway with glittery nipples at their SS17 runway show (centre) and now fashionistas are trying out the risqué look on social media too. Blogger Daisy Keens (left and right) told FEMAIL: 'Contrary to being impractical or completely unnecessary, nipple pasties are a glorious alternative to bikini tops and, dare I say it, bras. Depending on how comfortable you feel going braless (I have itty-bittiess so, in fairness, I have no real need for one!), nipple pasties and tassels can be worn on any number of occasions as a sparkling substitute.'

NEW Teenage rugby fan Charlie Pollard, 19, weaved like a professional as he took to the field at Murrayfield stadium during a student match between St Andrews University and rivals Edinburgh. Charlie sprinted onto the pitch at the home of Scottish rugby after losing a bet and impressed fellow fans with his agility and pace. Luckily the security team at the ground saw the funny side and let him off with a caution when he was eventually caught.

The mythological ape-like creature was allegedly spotted in Beulah, clearly walking on two legs as it is filmed walking through the trees and then appearing to jump over a branch and down a slope a few feet below.Many believe the figure's agility proves it cannot just be a human playing a prank in an ape suit.

Bronte the Labrador is terrified of tumbling down the garden steps at home in Shipley, west Yorkshire, and refuses to budge no matter how much her owner encourages. However, when his friend Pippy the Yorkshire terrier waltzes down in front of her Bronte finally finds his courage and bounds down after.

These beautiful photographs of the Lancaster bomber over Derwent Dam in Derbyshire were taken on what was the plane's last flight of the year before maintenance work is carried out on her over the winter. The dam and the nearby Ladybower Reservoir were used by the airmen for practice runs before the raid in 1943. Nineteen Lancaster bombers targeted three dams in Germany's industrial heartland and the airmen's brave efforts at night earned them celebrity status back home. The Avro Lancaster is the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber of the Second World War, with more than 7,000 built between 1941 and early 1946. The aircraft could carry a maximum bomb load of 22,000 lb, and had a maximum level speed with a full load at 15,000ft of 275mph, while it could cruise above 20,000ft at a range speed of 200mph.
