EXCLUSIVE: 'They're hurting inside and I hope they find happiness': Bridget Malcolm brushes off critics who called her 'anorexic' last year as she STUNS in new Seafolly campaign

Australian Victoria's Secret model Bridget Malcolm was targeted by cruel body shamers last year when she shared to Instagram an image of herself clad in yellow lingerie.

And after being branded 'anorexic' by some of her followers, the 24-year-old beauty has said she hopes her critics 'find some happiness.'

The Perth native told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday how she's confident in herself as she celebrates being the new face of Seafolly's Summer 2017 campaign.

'I know what I do, I know who I am, I know what I like and I know that those people are hurting inside and I hope that they find some happiness really,' Bridget told Daily Mail Australia.

'The thing that was bothering me last year was that they were saying I had an eating disorder, and I definitely do not have an eating disorder.

'And it's quite disrespectful to people who struggle with these illnesses because there is a whole lot that goes into them.'

The blonde beauty said body shaming in general, whether shaming anyone of any weight, is 'stupid.'

She said the body shaming comments on her own social media accounts have gone down 'dramatically' since speaking up about last year's incident and she's noticed that others have stepped in to 'stick up' for her online.

Bridget - who married in July - also had some body confidence tips, and said people should find the right diets and exercises that suit them.

'I think it's about finding a way of eating that isn't a diet, that isn't restrictive, I hate the terms "cheat meals" and "cheat days."

She also insisted that it's as much about what's on the inside than just on the outside.

'You are the person that's inside and I think for women it's important to meditate and be happy and keep being interested in learning,' she explained.

'And realising, focusing on body - and time and attention on body - is pretty superfluous as to who you are as a human,' she added.

In the images, she absolutely stuns in a variety of two piece costumes, including a frilly dusty pink number and a white cut-out bikini.

The campaign was shot in the picturesque Broome, Western Australia, where Bridget can be seen posing up a storm on red-rock cliffs and deserted beaches.

She told Daily Mail Australia to work with Seafolly is something she's always wanted.

'To be the face of Seafolly is like a dream come true,' she said.

'It's been one of the brands I've wanted to work with since I first started modelling. For it to finally happen, it feels a little bit surreal.'

She added about the shoot: 'It was insane.'

'It was the best, I'm so happy and so thankful that it happened.'

The New York based personality added how good it was to return home for the brand and how it's good to be back.

'Australia will always be home for me. I love it here, I feel myself just unwind the second I hear the ocean,' she said.

She is currently based in the US with her American musician husband Nathaniel Hoho.

Bridget gushed about him to Daily Mail Australia, saying when they first met she knew he was right for her.

'It was the most done deal, I've never experienced that before,' she explained.

'When I met him, I felt that I met my other half...I'm very, very, very happy and I'm very lucky to have found him.'
