  • Letizia seemed inspired by the charity's name dressing mostly in red

Normally pictured among other dignitaries it was a sight to behold to see Queen Letizia of Spain pose with a group of bikers during her engagement today.

The Queen of Spain, 44, seemed delighted at the chance to pose for a photograph with the group of leather clad motorcyclists at a charity event in Madrid this morning.

While slight Letizia is easily half the size of some of the men she posed with the queen looked completely at ease with her new found friends.

While her compadres opted for full leather Letizia was dressed in an eye-catching rouge complementary of the annual Red Cross event known as 'Dia de la Banderita' (lit. Little Flag Day).

Known for being one of Europe's most slender royals Letizia covered up her smaller frame today in wide leg red trousers and a billowing silk blouse.

Always with an eye for coordination Letizia paired her scarlet trousers with a pair of matching low heeled court shoes and a slick of cherry coloured lipstick.

The bikers were not the only friends that the mother-of-two made at the Red Cross World Day this morning.

The royal looked delighted as she held a baby girl at the event however, the infant didn't seem as thrilled, bursting into tears as she was handed to Letizia.

During the event the queen also received donations for the 'Dia de la Banderita' at the Red Cross headquarters.

During today's engagement Letizia met with the Secretary of State for Equality and Social Services, Susana Camarero, President of the Red Cross Spain, Javier Senent among others before attending a debate on childhood.

Today marks Letizia's second engagement this week. Yesterday saw the queen travel to Mondonedo for the inauguration ceremony at the San Rosendo de Mondonedo Secondary School.

The event will see the former journalist welcome the new students taking part in the 2016 vocational course at the school.

With the colder weather setting in the 44-year-old royal ditched her signature lighter fabrics in favour of a cosier wool cape.
