Millions evacuate East Coast before Hurricane Matthew makes landfall in US

More than two million people in the US have been urged to evacuate their homes in preparation for a 'direct hit' from Hurricane Matthew which claimed at least 102 lives as it ripped through the Caribbean. Gov Rick Scott of Florida (top left) warned on Thursday morning: 'Do not surf. Do not go on the beach. This will kill you.' (Pictured center however are people on Miami beach on Thursday morning). Traffic was backed up for miles in several cities in Florida (top right), the Carolinas and Georgia on Wednesday as hundreds of thousands of families along the East Coast fled their homes ahead of the deadly storm. The powerful Category-four hurricane, the fiercest Caribbean storm in nearly a decade, has killed at least 98 people in Haiti (bottom right) and four in the Dominican Republic. The Bahamas bore the brunt of the storm earlier today although appeared to escape largely unscathed (bottom left). President Barack Obama warned: 'I want to emphasise to the public - this is a serious storm. If there is an evacuation order in your community, you need to take it seriously.' The hurricane whipped Cuba and Haiti with 140 mile-per-hour winds and torrential rains on Tuesday, pummeling towns and destroying livestock, crops and homes. On Thursday morning, the storm was around 295 miles from West Palm Beach, Florida (the storm's trajectory is pictured inset).

Villages were leveled by 145 mph winds as the Category 4 storm brought floods, wreckage and misery to Haiti on Tuesday and Wednesday, killing at least 102 people across the Caribbean.

Derrick Rose fights against rape allegation in civil lawsuit

The 30-year-old woman who says Derrick Rose and his two friends gang-raped her wept quietly in court as her lawyer provided jurors with lurid descriptions of the alleged attack. But the NBA star's defense fired back by portraying the encounter as something from a porn film, not a horror movie, and insisted the sex was consensual. Opening statements began in Los Angeles on Wednesday in the $21.5 million civil lawsuit against the New York Knicks point guard. She claims she was either drugged or had drunkenly passed during the alleged attack at her apartment in August 2013. Her attorney, Waukeen McCoy, said she was the victim of a 'classic gang rape' by a man - Rose - who has never shown remorse. Rose, 28, didn't appear for the start of trial - he was in Houston a day earlier for the Knicks' preseason opener (above) - but he is expected in court Thursday.

PICTURED: Shaken Kim Kardashian and Kanye West emerge from their New York apartment with

NEW Kim Kardashian was surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday afternoon as she emerged from her New York City apartment - three days after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris. The American TV personality, 35, kept a hood pulled over her face as she made her way towards a waiting car with husband Kanye West and their two children, North, three, and 10-month old Saint.

Pascal Duvier was seen in Manhattan earlier this afternoon for the first time since Kim Kardashian returned to the city following her ordeal in Paris in the early hours of Monday morning.

Robbers tricked their way into the Paris home of the world's most famous reality TV star by simply saying: 'It's urgent - we must see Miss Kardashian,' a concierge has claimed.

Forget Paris - The Kardashians claim to take security at their Los Angeles homes seriously

In the wake of Kim Kardashian's robbery horror in Paris, DailyMail.com can reveal that while the family claim to act tough on security and make it a priority, reality might be a different story. Kris Jenner has repeatedly brought up security fears for her family on KUWTK, but her daughters have told her she's being over dramatic. While she claims to have increased her security, the family has faced several break ins, stalkers and even an iCloud hack over the years. Kendall Jenner is one of the most vulnerable, as she is the only one who doesn't live in a gated community and was the subject of an attack by stalker Shavaughn McKenzie. Kris's home has fallen victim to several break ins over the years, and Kim's new home is under renovations and faces its own security issues. Meanwhile, Khloe has admitted to feeling lonely in her big home since brother Rob moved out.

The vehicle, which had tinted windows, was seen driving past the reality TV star's luxury flat in Paris three times in 20 minutes at the time of the terrifying £8.5million heist in which she was tied up.

Kim Kardashian 'vows to stop flaunting her wealth on social media'

Kim Kardashian (left) has reportedly vowed to stop flaunting her wealth on social media after she was robbed at gunpoint, tied up and dumped in her marble bath tub in Paris. The 35-year-old reality star was forced to hand over her 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring (top right), worth £3.5 million, along with her jewellery box containing gems worth £5.24 million when five masked men stormed her luxury Paris apartment in the early hours of Monday morning. The ring - gifted to her by husband Kanye West- was last seen sparkling on Kim's finger in a Snapchat post earlier that night. The robbers tricked their way into her Paris home by simply saying: 'It's urgent - we must see Miss Kardashian,' a concierge has claimed. Police have noted inconsistencies in the concierge's story, and remain baffled at the apparent ease with which he was able to guide the robbers straight to the star's bedroom.

Making a splash! Incredible video captures young grizzly bear's unique fishing method of diving for salmon

Fascinating video has captured a grizzly bear catching its dinner using a unique fishing style in a British Columbia river. Footage posted by the Knight Inlet Lodge in Black Creek shows a young grizzly swimming and then diving underwater for salmon. Initially, the bear appears overwhelmed by all the fish encircling it and seems to not know where to start before slowly going underwater, but coming up without a catch. A spokesman for the Knight Inlet Lodge, a floating lodge in the middle of the wilderness of Glendale Cove, told Global News the behavior is unusual because until last year they had not seen any bears diving for fish. But then they saw a bear using the unique fishing style, which they said has since caught on among a few young grizzlies.
