She suffered a horrific accident during a boating trip in Turkey this week.

But Lindsay Lohan wasn't letting nearly losing a finger stop her from performing her charity duties, visiting a Syrian family in the Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old star was in high spirits as she surprised the children with presents, giggling in glee as they opened their gifts.

Lindsay smiled through the pain as she chatted to the family members about their plight and offered her support.

The actress has flown to Turkey to show her support for Syrian refugees, during which she has been paying visits to local families.

She also offered to volunteer at the medical centre, which only employs Syrian doctors and treats refugees, during her trip.

The politically-charged actress earlier made clear where she stands, as she posted an image of the Turkish flag with the caption: '#Start #helping the #refugees suffering in #Syria. As promised. #istanbul stop #massacreinaleppo.'

The actress was accompanied on her jaunt by Abdurrahim Boynukalin, the Turkish deputy minister of youth and sports, according to the Anadolu agency.

The star had attempted to lift the heavy anchor of the vessel she was on when she got tangled up in the rope and careened into the water, TMZ reported.

The actress attempted to free herself of the anchor ropes when the heavy boating machinery seared into her ring finger, cutting it off.

Lohan shared a more graphic photo of the bloody finger with the note: 'To make this very clear.

LiLo's boating buddies scrambled and found the finger of the Hollywood starlet, at which time she was taken to hospital, where an emergency surgical procedure to reattach it was performed.

She shared an image of the injury on her Snapchat account, telling her followers: 'I almost lost my finger from the anchor. Well, I lost half my finger, thank goodness we found the piece of my finger… I just had surgery to fix it… it hurts so bad.'
