Très sexy! As smoky and sultry beauty looks heat up the Paris Fashion Week runways, FEMAIL details how YOU can copy them for every type of date

  • FEMAIL rounds up the sexiest make-up looks from Paris Fashion Week, as seen on models like Gigi Hadid, 21, and Hailey Baldwin, 19
  • Get inspired for your next date with tips from the pros behind the runway looks

Paris Fashion Week is wrapping up and this season, the runways were full of incredibly sexy make-up looks. But would you expect anything less from the City of Love?

What made the smoky eye make-up and bold-lipped looks we spotted especially noteworthy, was that they weren't over the top. Instead, the backstage pros managed to strike the tricky balance between subtle and sultry.

The result? Wearable looks that we can actually picture ourselves trying - specifically, on dates.

Whether it's a first date, a fancy anniversary dinner or a girls' night out, look no further for make-up inspiration than the runway looks below.

The Date: Casual Drinks

There's enough to be nervous about on a first date as it is - you don't need to add worrying about whether your lipstick is smudged, all over your teeth or has somehow migrated down to your chin to the list. For a more low-maintenance look that still packs a punch, draw attention to the eyes with a brown pencil.

At Chloe, make-up artist Aaron de Mey used MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy along the waterline and smudged it out at the edges for a natural, yet sultry effect.

The Date: A Romantic Dinner

We imagine that the glowy, gold-accented look created for Alexis Mabille's spring 2017 show will come to life by candlelight.

After applying moisturizer and foundation, make-up artist Lloyd Simmonds swept MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfectly Lit (an illuminating powder) over the complexion and the brand's Cream Colour Base in Pearl on the highest points of the cheekbone.

Bronze eyeliner was painted along the waterline and in between the lower lashes, before being topped with MAC Superslick Liquid Eyeliner in Pure Show (a metallic gold) through the inner corners.

The Date: Girls' Night Out

You'll stand out in a sea of smoky eyes with a bright, high-shine look like the one seen at Nina Ricci over the weekend.

To make pigments in shades like electric blue less costume-y, make-up artist Diane Kendal added dimension by finishing the look with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. 'The gloss on top makes [the bright shades] aesthetically easier to wear somehow', she told Allure.com.

Pro tip: Applying a glossy product like Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream over bright eye make-up (seen here at Nina Ricci's spring show) makes it more wearable

The Date: Netflix and Chill

At Balmain, which is always a show that delivers sex appeal, make-up artist Tom Pecheux smudged brown eyeliner around the eye and applied clear MAC Studio Eye Gloss on the lids.

The takeaway? If you make your look deliberately imprecise, you won't have to worry about it getting messed up when things get hot and heavy.

On purpose: A smudgy smoky eye, like the one seen at Balmain, will look as sexy the next day as it did the night before

The Date: A Concert

Tom Pecheux set out to give models like Hailey Baldwin a 'cool, sexy rock 'n' roll' vibe backstage at Elie Saab's runway show.

To do this, he created a winged eye look with MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline in Blacktrack and then softened it by applying a chocolate brown eyeshadow over top. To add dimension and a hint of sparkle to the look, the pro painted a copper-tinged highlighter on the inner corners.

We love that the look is edgy without being too intense - perfect for taking in your favorite band with your beau.

A little bit rock 'n' roll: For a smoky eye that's not too heavy, start the liner at the center of the eyelid a la the look at Elie Saab, seen here on Hailey Baldwin, 19

The Date: Meeting the Parents

A red lip projects confidence and can make even jeans and a T-shirt look sophisticated. At Giambattista Valli, make-up artist Val Garland used a blend of MAC Just Add Romance Velvetease Pencil and the brand's Feels So Grand Retromatte Liquid Lipstick and diffused the edges with a brush. She kept the eye make-up to a minimum.

The finished look was commanding but approachable and totally mom-approved.

Sweet and sophisticated: The barely-there eye make-up and diffused red lip at Giambattista Valli made models like Gigi Hadid, 21, look like a grown-up girl next door
