'Six thumbs up': Cynthia Nixon gushes about Sarah Jessica Parker's new show after catching premiere with fellow WWHL guest Olivia Newton-John

Sarah Jessica Parker's Sex And The City co-star Cynthia Nixon gushed proudly about her childhood friend's new show on Tuesday on Watch What Happens Live.

Cynthia played Miranda Hobbes next to Sarah Jessica's Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO comedy that made them stars together after knowing one another since they were just 12 and 13.

Sarah Jessica, 51, is back on the same channel with a new comedy series called Divorce - and her former co-star showed her support.

'It was an exciting evening for her, an exciting project for her,' said Cynthia who appeared on the Bravo show after attending the Divorce premiere along with host Andy Cohen and fellow show guest Olivia Newton-John.

'I think that the guy from HBO who introduced it said it right - she took her time and found exactly the right vehicle to come back in,' she said.

Cynthia claimed the new show deserved 'six thumbs-up' from the three of them.

But as much as she raved about it, she clearly will not be a regular viewer.

'I don't have television reception in my home,' Cynthia admitted when a viewer asked if she watches Sex And The City reruns, with Andy teasing her: 'Do you have it in your car?'

'No, I don't think so,' she laughed. 'So no, I don't. I'm sorry.'

During the show, Cynthia had a message from another Sex And The City castmate, with Willie Garson, who played Carrie's best male friend Stanford Blatch, asking: 'How painful is it for Cynthia Nixon to do scenes without me? I think that's a solid question.'

Cynthia was then told that Khloe Kardashian thinks her sister Kourtney is 'a Miranda' from the show, with Andy asking Cynthia: 'So what Kardashian-Jenner are you?'

'I don't think I could name any Kardashians,' she smiled proudly.

Cynthia and Olivia, 68, played a series of games on the show, including one where the put John Travolta's face on people Olivia had posed for pictures with, including Mariah Carey, Elton John, Jodie Foster, Michael Jackson, Andy Gibb, Lionel Richie - and even Donald Trump.

In another game, the two guests put on strange-looking glasses that were covered with images of The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer's eyes while they also lifted light dumbbells.

They had to guess film titles after clues from Andy, with Cynthia winning 5-1 and Olivia refusing to correctly guess her own famous movie, Grease.

When Andy said her famous line 'tell me about it, stud,' Olivia pretended: 'Oh I don't know this one.'

But she was more forthcoming when she was asked what she honestly thought of Grease 2, which starred Michelle Pfeiffer instead of her, admitting: 'Not a lot.'

'They did ask us, I think they approached John and I to do it, and then it didn't happen, and I didn't think it was gonna happen, and then they made it with other people,' she recalled, with Andy adding sarcastically: 'Yes, they sure did.'

Asked about Grease Live!, however, she said: 'I liked it. Yeah, it was fun.'

As for making the original Grease, she said it was 'like going back to a school that I never went to,' especially because her own school in Australia was single sex with uniforms.

'We were all in our late 20s and 30s, but we felt like we were teenagers, so I think the whole thing was a lot of fun from beginning to end. We had a great energy,' she smiled.

Olivia then admitted that one of her 'few regrets' in her career was having to turn down the chance to tour with Frank Sinatra because she had just had a baby.

'That would be one of my only, few regrets,' she said. 'I would have loved to have sung with him, that would've been amazing.'

But she said getting to work with Gene Kelly on Xanadu was 'amazing,' adding: 'It was terrifying because I had never tap danced before, and the fact that I was going to be dancing with such an amazing, legendary dancer was kind of terrifying.

'But he was lovely. It was very special - I feel very grateful that I got to know him a little bit,' Olivia said.

Cynthia, meanwhile, spoke about her upcoming turn on Broadway for the revival of The Little Foxes in which she will trade off playing the lead roles with Laura Linney.

'It should be very exciting - knock on wood! I hope we don't regret it,' she said, adding: 'It lends itself for, ''Who wore it better?''

She was also asked about Mike Pence not being asked about his anti-gay policies during the vice presidential candidates' debate that had just finished, with Cynthia saying: 'Yeah, I think that's not cool - we gotta put those folks on the spot more on those issues.'
