Natasha Bassett and Peter Benson pose as Britney Spears and long-time manager Larry Rudolph on set of 'unofficial' biopic

Britney Spears and - presumably - her manager Larry Rudolph are completely against the biopic.

But that didn't stop Natasha Bassett and Peter Benson pretending to be them on Wednesday.

The duo were spotted on the set of the unofficial Lifetime biopic, currently shooting in Vancouver, Canada.

In the scene, the singer and her agent were attending the 'Music Awards', the hilariously unbranded photo backdrop being careful to avoid any expensive licencing fees.

Rudolph has been the singer's manger intermittently throughout her career - from 1998 to 2004, from 2006 to 2007 and from 2008 to present.

But the scene appeared to be from the earlier side of their relationship, if 23-year-old Bassett's outfit was anything to go by.

The short blue skirt and white denim jacket screamed early Britney, but it was the heart-shaped shades that were a dead giveaway.

Rudolph was a family friend and entertainment lawyer when he 'discovered' Britney - although by his own admission he does not stake this claim.

'I don’t know if you really "discover" a human being unless you’re talking about being at the hospital when she was born,' he told the Las Vegas Sun earlier this year.

'But I have known her since she was 13 years old, and she’d been off The Mickey Mouse Club for about a year, which I had not seen. But she brought in a VHS tape and played me some stuff of her, and it was just amazing.'

Lifetime describes the biopic, titled Britney Jean, as the 'tumultuous true story' of her rise to pop stardom, her personal breakdown and triumphant comeback.

The two-hour movie will span the now 34-years-old singer's career as a young girl in Louisiana to her high-profile relationships with Justin, now 35, and her former backing dancer Kevin Federline, played by Clayton Chitty.

She and Kevin, 38, were married from 2004 to 2007 and they share sons Sean, 11, and 10-year-old Jayden.

Meanwhile, Britney's parents Jamie and Lynne Spears will be played by Nicole Oliver and Matthew Harrison.

Nathan Keyes will play Justin Timberlake, Tamara Thorsen plays Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Markian Tarasiuk will play Wade Robson, while Kelly McCabe will play Britney's husband of 55 hours, Jason Alexander.

Back in August, Britney's rep told DailyMail.com that the singer 'will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing.'

Britney Jean is due to bow next year, but Lifetime has yet to set a firm date.
