She caused a stir when it was revealed she's already an established songstress with an impressive discography in her native Finland.

And it appears X Factor contestant Saara Aalto also has an interesting personal life - as it emerges she split up with her boyfriend of nine years to start a lesbian relationship with a superfan.

'I was in The Voice of Finland in 2012 and my girlfriend - fiancée now - watched the show, liked me a lot and sent me a fan message through Facebook,' Saara told The Sun.

'She wrote, "I have never, ever sent a message like this to anybody, but I just had this intuition that I have to send this to you." I was like, "That's so cute", and thought, "What a nice-looking girl".

'Then, after a year, she actually came to my concert and we met. We started talking and realised we just shared the same view of life and everything.'

Saara also revealed she still loves Teemu as a brother, adding that the childhood friends still hang out together with Meri - and the three are a like a 'happy family'.

The star has just been chosen to perform in the live shows as one of Sharon Osborne's final three singers.

In her audition, Saara left judges astounded when she gave the stunning rendition of the track having previously revealed she can sing Let It Go, the hit song from 2013 Disney hit Frozen, in 15 different languages.

The beautiful brunette boasts an envy-inducing resume for any hopeful, after she narrowly missed representing her homeland in the Eurovision song contest in both 2011, with Blessed With Love, and 2016, with No Fear.

Atop her attempts to represent her country, the stunner was mentored by Finnish rocker Michael Monroe in her aim for stardom on The Voice Finland where she placed second.

During her X Factor attempts, she left judges aghast and even produced a saucy response from Nicole Scherzinger who stated: 'That was so good. You make me want to twerk right now. My ass wants to clap for you. You are the bomb dot com... You're an artist with your voice. I feel grateful that I got to witness that.'

An impressed Simon meanwhile stated: 'That's how you do it. I think you need some direction, You've got soul. You need a platform.'

However it is unknown if the judges and producers knew of her already sturdy platform, with her three listed albums and further voice work including voicing Alice in the 2010 production of the film and Iris for the past five years in Pokémon.

An X Factor spokesperson told MailOnline: 'Anyone can apply for The X Factor whether they are professional or amateur, irrespective of their past experience and all contestants are auditioned on merit.

'Saara mentioned during her audition that she had been singing for a while but hadn't yet had the break she had been looking for.'
