'We'll have to just keep watching and imagining': Friends star Maggie Wheeler looks unrecognisable as she admits a reunion is 'unlikely'

She graced international television screens in 1994 for her role as Janice in Friends.

Now, 22 years on and Maggie Wheeler has opened up about her time on the famous set.

During an interview with Today Extra on Wednesday, the 55-year-old looked unrecognisable as she admitted a Friends reunion was 'unlikely' to happen.

'I think a reunion in many ways would be great fun and a wonderful celebration but it is unlikely to happen,' she revealed. 

'I think we will have to just keep watching and imagining how this whole thing would be spun out if we had the chance to do it today.'

The actress went on to add she still gets stopped on the streets by fans of the TV series and asked to perform her unique laugh.

'I have people come to me all the time and tell me Friends got me through this, it got me through this illness, got me through my divorce, got me through this hard time.'  

During an interview with U.S. show, This Mornings in August, Maggie said she came up with her famous laugh ahead of the first rehearsal, all those years ago.

'It was supposed to be a one shot thing, but I think I was in 22 or 23 episodes over 10 years. It was a joyous experience,' she said.

'I still get recognised and I do mimic Janice if people ask me.'
